I almost thought it was the guide of Elaine, but she isn't really in the witch style

That pretty much confirms that Elaine will accompany Iona to the School of Spellcraft and Sorcery and study wizardry for her third class. They'll be like "Can you afford the tuition?" and Artemis will go "Bitch, I founded this school. You owe ME money!"

Hey, I just had a wild thought, what's gonna happen with Elaine's [Sentinel's Superiority]? As in does the institution still exists in the vampire lands, or will it dissappear or change to, say, [The Last Sentinel] since Night has "changed his job"?

I seem to remember Iona mentioning the vampire sentinels. So I think they still exist, just for the Exterri empire instead of Remus.

This is so cool. Does the galaxy/nebula/neutron star thing suggest that Elaine is teaching space magic? And so has a space magic class? It was the prevailing opinion for her third class in the poll from a while ago.

I think the Sentinels are now the elite force in Exterri which is the empire under Night (First of his name). I think the most exciting part about Night right now is that he gave Elaine a blank check favor on her birthday, one I am pretty sure she can still call in.

maybe Elaine will temporarily lose the skill, but don't lose the Experience. Most likely it will turn into a new skill with similar effects.

Maybe, but I think the whole galaxies and constellation thing on the cover has a lot more to do with Celestial than Spatial (what with Elaine's Constellation of the Healer and Iona's Constellation of the Warrior classes).

I really don't think the picture is of Elaine (unless she's trying to fit in???), I think it's a new character we're going to be introduced to. Elaine with a witch's hat, a wand and elbow length gloves, and no Auri flying around? I don't see it.

I don't think Sentinel's Superiority is going anywhere (not with Vampire Sentinels still around). It would level if it wasn't already capped. After all, she just succeeded at a 10,000 year mission.

@DavidBrims that looks like a standart medieval witch outfit. Long Brown Hair + Blue Eyes + Celestial Magic, who else can it be? She's gonna pick some witch class. And obviously Elaine gonna study in School of Spellcraft and Sorcery.

@Alexey, the face is very similar for sure, and the magic is suggestive (though I'd argue not definitive - it could be something other than Celestial, or it could be Celestial and still be another character). I just think we shouldn't ignore the possibility it's a new character. I guess it's the absence of Auri that's most drawing my attention.

@DavidBrims Auri is not 24/7 with Elaine, she'll have her own lessons. Plus her natural light would change atmosphere of the pic quite significantly. There are aestetic reasons not to add her. Thus far we have never had any other character but Elaine for the cover. We could get say Iona for the cover, but a look alike to Elaine? That's just ridiculous.

I think the important part here is that she isn't just a Sentinel of Remus, but one of Night's Sentinels. He kept the institution alive through the eons, so Dawn should still count as one of his Sentinels.
