Could you remind us where book 5 begins and ends?

Beautiful

That One Guy

Honestly my favorite artwork yet

Torbjørn Nilsen

I would have thought Elaine had a sharper look to her eyes. Looks a bit dimwitted here. Still my favorite so far though.

Noice! The cover artist is doing a great job. Love their work!

Alexey Gladkich

It begins with her fall into the mines right after Dragon vs Guardians battle and ends a bit after meeting Elves, I think with the Hydra battle (+ interlude).

Drendude

This looks incredible. I love it!

M van Dongen

That's a great cover.

Damn looks nice

Dragonkinn

Good amount of shock or awe on her face

Lowe K. Lyesmith

Wayyyyyyy better than the other one! Lots of red, some glowy stuff, would be good to have on the wall

Anonymous

Love it

SuperiorFreak

Oh yeah. Much better. Less spoilers as well lol. Before hand I already knew she would run into the dragon cave before she even got there. This is much more ambiguous and tickles the imagination.

This cover catches the overall journey for that book rather well. Though i'd feel more comfortable with her not staring from within the cover at the onlooker. On the other hand, the cover is more noticeable this way.

I loved the cover!! much better, it was perfect. Don't give too many spoilers, it's just Elaine inside a cave, but it turned out really good. And Elaine's face gives a feeling of tiredness?? I think it kind of fits, it was pretty exhausting for Elaine to run through these tunnels running away from high level monsters.

Shoto

but in the picture it appears to be Elaine after she fled the dwarves and was left alone in the mines. Metal armor, dangerous and dimly lit place, bad food and water, exhausted. The image demonstrates this.

Shoto

The only thing I could say about the image is the cover she wears, but if I were to choose the image with Elaine with or without cover, I prefer it with the cover, after all, Elaine with cover is her badass moment. And that's all she was in this part of the mine, yeah, the cover looks good.

TroubleFait

Soooo tiiiiiired.

Shoto

I already have the background image for my phone~~

Shoto

the cover with butterfly wings is the cover of book 6, this is the cover of book 5. Book 5 goes from Elaine falling in the mines with the dwarves to the angel chapter. Book 6 (which has Elaine's cover with her wings) is the current book.

Signspace

Ahh okay.

Much better :) And it fits nicely with the others too.

Cirvante

That looks amazing.

merr49

The cover is great. But the sword sheath is a perfect rectangle and is either a terrible sheath because the blade will scrape along and cut the top or bottom when drawn also blunting the blade.

Vesperius sage

wow it looks great. love the colors

Melting Sky

Beautiful artwork.

Shoto

small details, what really matters is what the image shows, and it reviews a lot of what book 5. the image is excellent. the color scheme is perfect.

Much better

Aclys

I really love the picture as a whole, the armor, the cloak.. the sword.. her hair? All awesome. The only thing I'm not Quite sold on is her expression... a bit much of the "Dull surprise" going on, maybe? I mean I could take it to be expressing her exhaustion and worn down state while wandering those dank tunnels forever and ever... So its not a dealbreaker. Just my one note of criticism to go with lots of sincere praise for the artwork!

Not sure what I think about it, the quality and conveyed emotions are great, but the armor and sword look (in my opinion) way to medieval for a setting that felt more antique for me. Also the boobplate...

SelkieMyth

Ah remember - The dwarves had full plate armor, and they gave it to Elaine. This is supposed to be that armor. The color's a bit off, and it's missing some fancy patterns, but eh. I'll take it. The artist can be hit or miss with fine details, but the price for the quality - and consistency in art style - makes it worth it

Shoto

yes, there are some small details that only the crazy ones would know (which are most of us), but the image was really good, the best so far, I thought it was nicer than the cover of book 6, not that it's bad, but because I really liked this one.

mike

Boob plate isn't a big deal. We have armor with massive codpieces that serve little to no function and if there were famous female knights throughout history I guarantee boob plate would have been a thing we saw a fair bit of. As far as boobplate goes, this depiction of it is about as tasteful as it gets and isn't really far fetched since magic freaking dwarf master smiths made the thing.

She looks exhausted, desperate, lonely and perfect for this part of her journey. Well done to the artist; seriously, well done.
