hi,

I've been doing ambient stuff at parks (unemployed vibes) as a sort of a getaway from the usual client stuff I'd had to do recently, and here's two that I feel went pretty well for a random no-planned session.

here's the story of each song (if you're interested)

- the first piece 'ripple interpretation' was a day of me finding a nice place to sit near the river and just literally staring at the river flow to see if it'd inspire me (lol). I noticed each ripple has it's own (sort of) repeating pattern, and that pattern alternated depending on the velocity of the flow or the presence of obstacles such as rocks and vegetation. And so the audio piece consists of me trying to sonically interpret each ripple with synths (hence the title). Also this man was cruising his little toy boat so I captured the audio of that on my laptop and resampled it as the background chords.

- the second piece 'walks and bleeps' was a similar day, randomly finding a place to sit in a park and just trying to make music with my surroundings. I was sat alongside a wooden path so people would walk past me, giving an awkward look, and I would sample their sounds in return. Also I took some default sounds in ableton, played them through my laptop speakers and resampled those with the laptop microphone. It was a windy day, and I tried to mitigate the blowing lows with some basic EQ but it's still very noticeable and not the most pleasing sound... However that also would be the charm of working outdoors with organic sources, and somehow I feel more attached to those sounds than some clean pro-producition foley recording... could just be me but yea.

anyway TLDR, it's fun to take your laptop outside and make music, highly recommend. touch grass.

p.s. also feel free to sample the song if you wish if you think you'd like to add it to your production!
