hi!

here's an Ableton instrument rack that I made to try to mimic the whole sound design process of the samples posted earlier.

It doesn't sound exactly the same as the modular setup, but the idea + flow (an instantaneous, sporadic trigger pulse alternately feeding into a standard oscillator & karplus-strong oscillator + some stereo delay) is being depicted in this instrument rack.

The assigned macros are hopefully self-explanatory, but to give an overview:

[trigger rack]

'env decay' is the decay length of the triggering envelope, which is what determines the length of the arpeggiator rate (fast -> slow)

'arp gate' is the setting for the gate on the arpeggiator

'smooth' is the pitch gliding length on the 'random on trigger' device which is used in conjunction with the 'ptchbend on/off' macro within the 'instrument' rack

[instrument rack]

'ptchbend on/off' is the knob to turn on or off the 'bms' device located before each oscillator. it pitch bends the incoming midi.

'scale quantize' turns on the scale device before each oscillator, which will allow for more melodic results.

'RESET PBEND' is useful for resetting the pitch bend values when turning off 'ptchbend on/off' as automating pitch bend in general is prone to midi issues.

'saw wave vol' is the volume adjustment macro for blending in a saw wave into the 'Operator' oscillator. If you don't like the sound of the saw, simply turn it down and you'll be left with a simple sin + the karplus sound.

Feel free to edit and improve on the rack if you can make it sound more like the original samples!

(rack was made in Live 11.3.12)
