hi,

as I try to recover from my demotivated state, I've been playing with the MOOD mkii guitar pedal with acoustic material like my voice and guitar, to take advantage of the new stereo feature.

most of the acoustic recording was done with the critter & guitari microphone which I personally feel pairs well with the lo-fi feeling of the Mood mkii, accompanied by some textural additions by passing the audio through a cassette player.

also the other day I got the random thought to search 'bon iver' on whosampled, which led me to a big list of bon iver's 'citations' and the realization of sampling-awesomeness.

Taking in what I learned, I went online to find some slow tempo instrumental music (like searching up 'smooth sax music' on Spotify) to find some sampling material that would supposedly sound nice when sped up.

'tex_8' and 'tex_10' (be careful they're a bit loud) are the results of the finds, which were then simultaneously looped and somewhat mangled through the cassette + Mood. If you're into bon iver's rather recent music (22, A Million or i,i) this technique might be inspiring and interesting to dive deeper into, just as much as it's been inspiring to me.

a slightly different post than usual, being a sort of a little life update but I hope this is somewhat interesting!

As usual, feel free to use the samples however you like!

Bon Iver is one of my biggest inspirations for just songwriting and sound design in general. 22 A Million is one of my favorite albums of all time. Looking forward to messing with these!!
