I've been listening to a lot of indie electronic (not sure the specific genre term for it), like the works of jim-e stack and bj burton, and their crunchy, yet not-too harsh, satisfying drum processing has always been an intriguing element of their music.

and I've recently discovered that tape saturation is possibly a big part of what makes their sound, so the samples above are a few loops I made utilizing the technique.

also included in the google folder is an Ableton effect rack that sort of gives a similar tape saturated sound without using any third party plugins (look for the "tz tape distortion.adg" file inside) (audio rack works only with Live 11.1++, sorry)
