What is acoustics? Acoustics, broadly, is the science of sound. Some would argue that the term applies solely to the physical properties of sound, but there are many fields within the discipline that focus not on the sound itself, but how it can be perceived, shaped, and applied.

I'm late to this post, but wanted to say thanks for the detailed explanations and illustrations! I'm now more understanding of two things that were previously inexplicable: popcorn ceilings and linoleum.

Really liked reading that - as much as for the discussions of the what and whys of the different period homes as much as for the acoustics. Do more like these!
