July/August Newsletter (Patreon)

Hello everyone! I have a few key updates this month, but I also just want to say: Welcome new patrons! 🎉 And, thank you! 

I'm having some issues with my Cricut, so unfortunately I can't print you folks the new stickers I wanted to send out, but nevertheless stickers and prints HAVE BEEN SENT. The Cricut issues set me back, but they're coming. Once I can work out my mechanical issues, I will print the new stickers and send them out to all my $5+ patrons!

KAI is on the rise and I'm so elated and excited!!! 😄 We recently surpassed 1M views on BOTH Tapas and Webtoons, which is really so amazing I just don't have words to describe it.

The Tapas EA program has been going really well for me, and I also reached the Silver Tier this month in the Webtoon Canvas Reward program, which is awesome! So thank you so much, no matter where you read KAI. A larger income means I can create more stuff for you all, my amazing patrons! I've been thinking on how I can grow this community and I have some new goals, new rewards and a new TIER coming soon that I want to run by you guys. Here it goes:

✨ New Rewards ✨

First, I really want to offer pages as they're completed to ya'll because I have so much content I want to share and I want you to see it! But, I was having a hard time figuring out the logistics of how that would work, if for instance, each tier had a different amount of early access pages. That would be a headache! So I decided to offer instead completed lineart and dialogue pages to my $10+ patrons as they're completed! So these patrons will get to see more of the process, as well as read what's going to happen in the story several pages ahead. 🥰 These posts are going to start next month on August 2, and occur at least bimonthly on Mondays.

In August, I'll also be adding a new $25 tier (I will not go any higher than this lol). The new benefits will be as follows:

• A free one-time portrait commission of you or your OC
• Yourself or your OC will be drawn into the comic as a background character!
• First access to any exclusive PDFs, merch, volumes, or zines that I create at no additional cost.
• INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING too!

Of course, they'll also get all the previous benefits. $25/month is such a generous pledge, like at that point I'd consider you a bit of an investor. I wanted to make it truly worth it!

✨ New Goals ✨

$150/mo - After reaching this goal, I'll produce another minicomic! This time, a juicy PATREON EXCLUSIVE comic centered around Kai and Alex in their college years. Like before, I'll script and sketch this one before I start the campaign, so it can be produced rather quickly after the goal is reached. I might offer a $200 stretch goal but I'm not sure. More details on that are coming.

$400/mo - I'll increase the amount of early access pages that $5+ patrons get to read to 10 updates ahead!

$500/mo - WHOA! This would be an amazing goal to reach. To celebrate, I'll create an exclusive holo print and send it out to ALL my patrons!

$1000/mo - Reaching this goal would likely make it possible for me to quit my day job and make comics full time, meaning I'll be able to create way more pages, merch, and other content for all of you! I'll also start working on a printed volume for the series if I reach this goal (if I haven't started already).

That's it for now! I'm so amazed that things are happening right now. I'm very driven and motivated to make this year and the next really awesome for KAI.
