Title: A Prophecy Realized (5)

‘She is finally depleting herself,’ Silver Dragon sighs in relief as she senses Bibi Dong’s movements getting sluggish after rousing divine energy from her scythe at the expense of her rapidly depleting stamina in this state of self-martial-fusion. Frankly, Silver Dragon is more than surprised by how well Bibi Dong’s current state works with her scythe, and it’s almost a shame she’s in a crazed state.

After all, her divine scythe directly attacks the target’s soul and infects them with the Law of Negativity. Still, Bibi Dong’s spiritual skill in this fused state is as ghoulish as her appearance—regeneration. The woman will regenerate with her body torn to shreds!

‘She is emulating the effects of a divine soul in this state, which makes sense since her inherent evil martial soul affects the target’s soul. It’s as if she is born to continue what Rakshasa failed in achieving.’ Silver Dragon internally scoffs as she recalls Asura’s more unhinged rival.

And this very memory should have been a reminder to Silver Dragon as Bibi Dong stops suddenly and lets out a crazed screech before waving her scythe downward!

At Ja Sun!

The attack is too sudden and outrageous. Bibi Dong zips past everyone to cleave her scythe into Ja Sun’s humungous form before the enormous spatial gate shudders, condensing at an even more incredible pace till the point the size of the gate surpasses the vast cities of the continent!

“There!” Shrek stands as Ja Sun’s body shudders as a deep, drawling rumble quakes his very body.

“Reign your bitch in!” Zi Ji snarls at Ah-Yin, who is frowning deeply by now as she, too, finds Bibi Dong’s case extremely strange.

There is simply no way the Bibi Dong they know will hitch her hopes on uncontrollable factors aside from Ja Sun. So, her current situation leaves Ah-Yin with doubt that this may be a ruse, at least until now. After all, injuring Ja Sun further from her divine proportions will make things troublesome for herself and Bi Ji when they make a move later.

“Woah!” Saixi gasps, finding herself tumbling over Ja Sun’s slimy body as his surface quakes. Her claws sink into his body before she sits straight and stares at the mindless, red-eyed Bibi Dong devouring a stream of purplish energy from Ja Sun.

His venom!

Bibi Dong recovers at a surprising pace, revealing that it’s not only soul origin that can fund her madness but a pool of extremely dangerous poison, too—a requirement Ja Sun fulfills in his current condition.

“Chaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”

Everyone’s attention suddenly shifts from Bibi Dong as an orange-skinned dragon-like oversized lizard flies out of the silver gate, blowing a blazing torch with his mouth as his eyes glow a hazy black hue!

Even Bibi Dong lets out an unintelligible snarl, her body reappearing near this beast and her scythe cleaving him by the neck as she opens her mouth to devour something formless.

The corpse falls on Ja Sun’s body before getting devoured. But that’s not all. A horde of such beasts flies out at once, all of their eyes covered by a black glow as they roar out loud.

“Charizard!” All of these beasts scream as such.

Shrek observes with interest as Bibi Dong is the only one killing these strange beasts. And for some reason, their deaths do not create any spirit ring.

“What kind of Spirit Beast is that?” Lan Ruo notices these oddities and mutters under her breath.

“No, these beasts do not belong under this heaven,” Shrek licks his lips as he feels every beast emerging from the spatial gate tinted with an evil affinity.

“A tribulation!” Bo Saixi gasps and whips her head toward the sky but finds the wide blue sky as calm as ever.

“There will be no tribulation. It’s not a heaven-defying act. After all, he is merely using his spirit skill,” Shrek informs the rest before staring at Silver Dragon, “Isn’t that right?”

The corner of her eyes twitches as more and more groups of monsters climb out. Some fly, and some walk on Ja Sun’s blobby surface.

“Venu!”

“Toise!”

“NITARRRRR!”

From oversized green frogs to brown-feathered birds holding leeks in their wings, Ja Sun summoned them all!

“His second martial soul… summons lifeforms from other creations and controls them,” Silver Dragon mutters before staring at Shrek, “You must be quite happy. You get to attain what you desire the most.”

“And to think a prophecy can ever lead to a happy ending,” Shrek laughs as his body turns into a stream of darkness that flies past the angrily screeching Bibi Dong, massacring through these strange monsters before disappearing into the strange spatial portal.

While summoning these monsters may be Ja Sun’s ability, letting others travel through these gates is not a part of his skill set.

Shrek defies the mandates of Heaven as a fearsome red bolt of lightning strikes his body from the calm blue sky before he can fully leave this plane, shattering the spatial door in doing so.

“OW! Hahahahaha! I’ll miss you, too, mother!”

His laughter booms alongside the explosion set off by the destruction of the spatial door, leaving thousands of these black-eyed monsters attacking Bibi Dong. Ah-Yin even notices a ball of purple phasing through others before licking Bibi Dong in the face with their large, red tongue, only for Bibi Dong to grin manically and bite into the seemingly phantom monster before inhaling and devouring the monster in one go!

“Freeee~!” A large butterfly trills, letting out a puff of powder from its wings before Bibi Dong tears it into shreds alongside hundreds of its teammates.

“At least she won’t disturb me for a while,” Silver Dragon narrows her eyes and observes how Bibi Dong is busy with the collection of strange monsters targeting everyone but Bo Saixi. If Bibi Dong were to be in control, she would have taken out almost all the monsters in a single attack.

Finally free from its previous attack, Ja Sun’s body lets out a glow. This time, light forms into a totem of vertical golden eye midair before aiming at Zi Ji, who scowls in response.

“We’re going to die,” Snow notes calmly, dancing through the sea of tentacles, freezing them with her mere presence as Zi Ji clicks her tongue.

“Saixi!” Daoliu stares at the woman intensely, not with anger but with hope—hope that she will see his way once in their lifetime.

“It’s over,” Silver Dragon points the spear at Ah-Yin and the rest before the spear chimes coldly and zips past through the confines of space to stab through the blue-haired controller of the group, or so she hoped as time stills for a second and the massive vertical eye made out of light lets out a beam of temporal energy aimed at the spear’s tip, parrying it away.

“What?” She snaps her gaze in Saixi’s direction, who is touching the surface of the slime with her hand, a reluctant expression on her face.

“They are your allies,” the Priestess repeats. Shakiness in her voice recedes as her hesitation disappears further before matching the Dragon’s gaze.

“She is your enemy.”

Silver Dragon snorts and raises her hand to recall the spear, only to freeze in shock.

*Riiiiiipppppppp*

A dark claw tears her heart out of her breast as Silver Dragon hears a cold whisper, “That’s why I don’t like betting on uncontrollable elements. That woman took too long to gather her wits.”

Silver Dragon’s veins start getting purplish as she struggles to look back at Bibi Dong. Six of her eyes are still red, but the crazed aggression in her gaze can no longer be found.

“And while Ja Sun may have spared you such lack of attention, I will not. You should have prepared your mind better before trying to kill our man, you ancient dragon.”

Bibi Dong pulls her arm back and lets go of the heart instantly!

The descending heart enlarges to the size of a massive mansion before crashing into Ja Sun’s body, who greedily devours the nourishing item!

*Clang*

As Silver Dragon struggles to teleport away, the pure poison of negativity eating at her heart, Bibi Dong raises her scythe to parry the silver spear with ease and looks at Ah-Yin before staring at Saixi.

“Ask Ja Sun to let Ah-Yin and Bi Ji’s healing into him,” She directs her voice to Saixi, who frowns back.

“It doesn’t work like that!”

“You better pray it does because I will not hesitate to turn the island into a nightmarish hell,” Bibi Dong threatens calmly, “Now, please. Get to work.”

Saixi shudders in anger as she shoots the six-armed Rakshasa Successor a hateful glare before closing her eyes.

‘Pray for me.’ She focuses on his words, his smile, and his carefree demeanor. After all, she needs some sense of mental image to direct her prayers and faith. But how can someone as easygoing as he shares a bed with THAT monster? This isn’t something Saixi is capable of understanding.

Instead, she whispers her prayers through her heart. She doesn’t let her faith come from affection. That would be too dangerous. Instead, she believes in things returning to the way they were before. She believes that things will finally return to… normalcy, relatively.

And she feels his agreement with her request.

His crazed highness is willing to be healed, whatever that means, just because his spiritual inheritor is requesting it.

“Do it!” Saixi stares at Ah-Yin, mouthing the words.

The blue-haired vine controller nods as Bibi Dong continues to keep her eyes on the Silver Dragon, who chews her lips in frustration and disappears from the spot, retreating through spatial manipulation at its finest. But Bibi Dong doesn’t let up. She remains vigilant.

“Hey!” Zi Ji finally heaves a deep sigh before shouting at Bibi Dong, “You almost killed us!”

“One must fool allies to fool the enemies,” Bibi Dong replies calmly, “I wouldn’t have taken more than a limb or two if that’s what you’re afraid of.”

Zi Ji fumes in rage while Lan Ruo and Snow stare at the demonic Bibi Dong with more than caution. They share similar worries in their gazes. Snow and Bibi Dong had a cordial relationship before they left for their supposed vacation of a voyage that turned into a shitstorm. So, to think Bibi Dong plays things so close to her chest, not even informing Ah Yin about all this, showing how she deals with her foes, and how she will deal with traitors, if any, amongst them.

“Admirable,” Daoliu smirks calmly and flies to a strange bug. The long centipede-like bug has droopy eyes and lets out a gentle screech, “Scoliii.”

The other monsters look around strangely, their eyes reverting to their natural hues before some of them start attacking each other at sight, while the rest try to crawl to the ground near them.

Lan Ruo stares at a long flood-dragon look-alike with gaping jaws and winged fins around his neck.

“Gyara!” The monster lets out a beam of energy at their group only for Lan Ruo to block it with a hand.

Then there are groups of angry orange lizards with the tip of their tails on fire staring at Bibi Dong with equal hate and fear.

None of this matter to Ah-Yin and Bi Ji, however. Ah Yin finally activates her domain now that Ja Sun has registered them as allies while Bi Ji condenses all her energy to activate her healing skill, too.

“Things aren’t over.” Bibi Dong stares at Zi Ji, Lan Ruo, and Snow. “Protect Bi Ji and Yin.”

They instantly recover their alertness and get to work.

A/N: The arc starting from Ja Sun’s mental recess is a bit strange, I agree. It was due to a combined lack of motivation and stellar stubbornness to write despite everything, but I also admit that this arc has tied out some final points, such as the short mark of prophecy which may or may not tie into the end of the Fanfic later on. I usually would not have written such a note and would have let readers judge my work as they see fit if not for my desire to promise that the quality will improve from the next chapter and many things will be explained. Again, it’s just that I want to complete this novel as quickly as possible, but not at quality’s expense, even if I sometimes fail in that area. As for Ja Sun’s second martial soul, its time to shine is not far.

Actually, I did have another idea for a shorts fic… something about a tentacle armor martial soul on a hot chick that rails through the Douluo Dalu 1 cast, lol.
