Dev Log and progress report ( Warning, long post ) (Patreon)

Hello again, today I wanted to talk to you again about the changing of the main character face.

Since the release of version 0.1 I received many comments asking for a change in his look, as his age seems to be over 19, but although I share their views so far I thought it was more important to focus all my efforts on adding more content to the game than making that change. But now working in chapter 3 I realized that there is a particular scene in which Anna (his mother) and the main character interact and something didn't seem right, the age of both looks quite similar to be mother and son, so I asked for your opinions both here and in the F95 forum about what to do about this topic.

The opinions I received were 50% in favor of the change and 50% against, so I started to look for what reasons some people were not in favor of the change and these are their arguments:

- I don't want the updates to be delayed for making such a big change in the game

- I'm used to see this character, it would be strange to change his face

- The new model looks too young

Thanks to this, I was able to re-evaluate my ideas and I think I came up with a solution that can make everyone (including me) happy:

We are going to change his face, but not with the model I had shown you before, we are going to respect the original face making some small adjustments (softening his jaw and shrinking his Adam's apple). I'm very happy with the result because it still has the physical features of the character that we are used to, but with slightly a few years less (of course the height and  body build  of the character were not altered)

And as for the delay, the release date of version 0.3 will not be affected, since fortunately in most of the scenes the mc is seen from the back, and for the ones where the face is seen there is a tool that allows me to render only a fraction of a scene, this way I can only render his face and paste it in the previous render, this process makes a 45min / 1 hour task to take only 5 minutes and the final result is the same.

Chapter 3 is in his final stages of developing and will come with several surprises, I'm very eager to share it but I still needs to polish some things and finish some others. I can't give you an exact release date yet, but it will be in about a week.
