Character Card: Veriel

Veriel's appearance during his time in the academy:

185 cm- 6'1" tall

Fair sun-tanned skin with deep blue eyes.

He has a strong and well-defined facial structure traditionally found within the old Argentian nobility: Chiseled cheekbones, a sharp jawline, and thick eyebrows.

His dark brown tousled hair adds to his alluring charm. It's often styled in a slightly disheveled manner that complements his rebellious personality. Its length is a sign of his confidence, and that he wishes to emulate King Uriel, his role model who styles his hair in the same way.

Veriel wears the black uniform of the academy, marking him as one of the nobility. Unlike most students, Veriel likes to keep the overcoat open and undershirt unbuttoned halfway.

Veriel himself:
Veriel has a muscular and athletic build due to his upbringing as heir to the ducal seat of Silverhill, and his physical presence exudes a sense of power and virility. Standing at an above-average height, he carries himself with an air of arrogance that draws attention to wherever he goes. Despite this, Veriel is one of the friendliest members of the nobility, claiming friends from both the noble and commonborn classes.

Veriel’s personality:

So long as no one tries to impose their views, power, rank, and/or seniority over him, he remains friendly and outgoing.

Veriel likes to goof around and believes that the need for so much schooling is unnecessary as a future duke. He believes that there are people that are smarter than he, and that he just has to find the well-intentioned among them to run his duchy while he does his duty to protect and provide as their patron. Instead, he'd much rather give the responsibility of the day to day issues and only get involved in the events that would require his presence.

As such, you can see his behavior reflecting his "off-hand" approach to many issues. He surrounds himself with friends, and will try to ensure peace among the friend group. He dislikes drama, and will wait for things to fix themselves. He'll be a bit clingy and want to include you in his activities. He'll also want to show you off to the imperials in the academy.

Veriel and romance:

The challenge with Veriel isnt trying to get close enough to where he wants you, its trying to make him mature without breaking up. He will argue and push back if you try to change him or get him to accept more responsibility. As a friend, or his lover, you need to decide whether being you're comfortable letting him do as he likes or helping him grow as a more responsible ruler. Veriel will give you a challenge as he wont be listening or agreeing to everything you say. And he will argue and even threaten to break up with you if you dont pay attention to how to communicate with him. Charisma mains will have helpful hints and prompts to know what to say, while other MCs will have to use context and emotional intelligence to figure him out. With Veriel, you can choose either the Military Expedition or the Jelaythan Diplomatic Mission. He will follow you to either one.

Veriel likes and dislikes:

He likes: Sports, dancing, dueling, everyone including you except Zera and Max, meat, and drinking.

He dislikes: Max and Zera, bitter food, authority, difficult situations, being ignored.

Veriel and family:

He and the rest of his family get along very well. After the events of Silverhill however, he and his sister become much closer and reliant on each other. Lady Cassandra, his aunt, is the only figure of authority he will listen to outside perhaps King Uriel himself.
