Monthly Reward and Behind the Scenes Update- August 2021 (Patreon)

Hello All!

This month has been a bit of a whirlwind.

To summarize things: I started physical therapy for my hand pain and it's going great! They did x-rays and stuff to see what is wrong, and it is definitely not carpal tunnel or arthritis. I am currently working at it to make things better for my work setup. I have also had some significant positive changes happening in my life, which I'm sure I will get into soon, but that's why I haven't been working on personal art as much. To make things shorter, I am very happy but also very busy lol.

So what does this mean for Murphy & Mitzi? Well, not a whole lot tbh. I will still be finishing character bios and illustrations (I am so sorry I haven't finished them yet, you guys are awesome), but actual short animations will probably be put on hold. And not just because of life stuff, but because I think it's finally time to take the next step. I have admittedly been less into working on the shorts recently, and I think the audience kinda agrees since they've been underperforming. Which is totally fine! But now I think is the perfect time to take it further. 

I don't want to make the info public yet, but brainstorming on a full Murphy & Mitzi episode has commenced. We're in the very early stages, but I want to start working on that instead of prioritizing shorts. I think most of you would rather see that happen anyway, lol. Of course, the M&M content won't stop! I have many comics and illustrations planned that will not take the same time investment that the shorts do. And as always, I will keep you patrons updated on how it's going. I just wanted to let you all know first because we're still in the very VERY early stages.

Ideally, I'd like to get the animatic finished before publicly announcing any crowdfunding or extensive plans. That stuff hasn't been figured out at all yet, I want to focus on getting the project to a state that would be considered far enough along to show the dedication, if that makes sense. I think it's about time Murphy & Mitzi became a much more fully-realized project, and I hope you'll agree and support me in this experiment, even if it doesn't end up actually happening. But hey, trying is better than waiting.

So I hope this excites you all! It's still very VERY early along, but I wanted to be clear as to why it might make animation output less common. I'd still like to do some shorts and animated content, but they may not be a priority. Besides, I've been thinking comics might be a fun way to expand on dialogue and stuff.

Thank you all for your support! Like I said, it's still in the early stages, but I am excited to see this FINALLY happen, even in the smallest ways. You can bet I will update about the project when there's progress.
