從前,三個小朋友在摩納哥賽車。一個駕駛 Alpine,另一個法拉利,最後那個平治。比賽上半段,他們分別佔據第三、四及五。本來,相安無事,直至第31 圈末……

兩圈、只需要兩圈,即完美示範八屆冠軍車隊出手的狠準,法國品牌車隊的關鍵回防以及意大利戰術大師的 tunnel vision。

三位內心深處仍有個小朋友的主角分別是:Esteban Ocon、Carlos Sainz Jr 以及 Lewis Hamilton。

第 31 圈尾,守在第五的 Hamilton 比第三的 Ocon 只落後約五秒半。估計平治當時推算到,假如Hamilton 圈尾進站換胎、出站後將在第八位有個約 15 秒的「唔塞車區」no-traffic zone,可以盡情快跑。估計算過 risk/reward 比例後,平治決定著七屆冠軍入站換胎進攻。

今日在摩納哥鬥 F1,由於幾乎不能扒頭。因此換胎出站後,是否「塞車」就比其他賽站更關鍵。塞死,就只能跟前車慢走。唔塞,便可盡情快跑,比仍然「塞緊」的對手賺得特別多。

Hamilton 出 pit 後跌落隊友後面,剛好有 14秒351 的「唔塞車區」,可以盡情狂奔。幾乎同時,第三的 Ocon 已經意識到危機。因此,第32 圈第一段立即跑全場最快的 purple sector 19秒996,第二段亦跑個人最快35秒889。然後,Ocon 第 32 圈尾立即進站回防換胎。正確嗎?絕對正確。

為甚麼咁絕對?一)Hamilton 換胎後立即於第二、第三及第一段鬥跑全場最快;二)當Ocon 完全離開 pitlane 後,儘管繼續領先Hamilton,但優勢從超過五秒半變成只有三秒二。可以想像,假如 Ocon 再遲一圈才入 pit,可能已經丟掉香檳。

然後,戰術大師來了:法拉利。

第 33 圈,Sainz 已被升上第三。這裏有兩重點。第一,他正在使用白邊硬胎,Pirelli 賽前估計可跑50 至 60 圈。事實上,Alonso、Russell、Piastri、Magnussen、Hulkenburg 均用白邊胎跑超過 50 圈。

真重點是第二。當 Ocon 必須因應同樣使用黃胎起步的Hamilton 而回防入 pit 換胎後,其實就是放生Sainz:他有19秒121 的「唔塞車區」。從 GPS 看來,其前方亦無慢車阻擋,Sainz 亦即時於第一及二段跑個人最快、兼分段快 Verstappen 一秒三。天公造美。

同時,Ocon 換胎慢了,四秒二。法拉利則著Sainz 第 33 圈末入 pit。後來車隊解釋入 pit 目的為防守 Hamilton,Sainz 於 radio 回覆車隊說:「I don’t care about Hamilton. This is weak.」。戰術大師的「隧道視野」讓法拉利當時守住Hamilton,卻錯過「賴死」等機會超越 Ocon 的整個森林。重點:Hamilton 換胎後五圈,只有一圈比換胎前 Sainz 的 17 秒 1 快。

賽前,Aston Martin 策略部「前一姐」Bernie Collins 明言,traffic 在這裡就是一切。遇上就麻煩,避開就有 so。性格巨星有 so 不要,偏要自找麻煩。用白邊硬胎起步本來就是在等 Ocon 提早進站一刻,緊隨他進站就剛好 defeat 原本戰術的 purpose。有甚麼原因要咁做呢?願聞其詳。

拉利日常慣已習,唔出事先係出奇 其實馬田換光頭黃都中曬招,我理解點解唔直換半雨,佢地怕換錯半雨會蝕到嘔番個第二出黎,但其實要保守可以睇定D再多一圈都可以,紅牛在你前面都未郁… 果然仍然都不是爭標份子的團隊,仍需日子磨利刀… 希望平治快點回來,車唔快可以盡抄,紅牛既可靠性問題就會被迫番出黎,但其他車隊架構唔係咁易一兩年就可以進化成冠軍隊

No way 3 kids la, but only 1 French kid and 1 Spanish kid, while the British is a grad with 7 degrees and with a very rich 8 times super daddy who is going to revamp their home into a cutting edge parkland… The class of Merc F1 was so different, while we normally people could never understand what Ferrari wanted to achieve in this competition. I thought Merc could steal a podium place if luck went more to them, but Russell’s mistake and Ocon/Alpine’s perfect execution in both the pit and in the track left Merc in 4th and 5th. This was already a super result with the new car. Even I am never a Merc fan, I have a lot respect to them.

The other (old) kid should be the one driving a green car in the 2nd place, with his super computer watching and calculating ever move of all cars in the track. I agree Ming Yu’s point that AMR is just not yet a WCC contender, but they are getting closer and closer, since the time after Vettel joined and now with Alonso, Fallow, and many new and capable factory and ground team… they need now to really improve the pitwall and minimize mistake in pit crews, then AMR will be a WCC contender - although some may say that they need to replace Stroll, I still think that he can do better as a supporting driver, but I couldn’t be sure what is lacking right now.

我當刻諗到法拉利點解入pit…因為…Ocon 個pit 係慢…佢要係人家的傷口上灑鹽… 但…前車同你隔3秒,佢個pit stop亦只係4.幾秒…慢?係慢,但未至於好慢… 法拉利一日唔改整個管理文化同架構,一日都只係好似清朝的洋務運動咁,買哂d「船堅炮利」的東西返來,以為咁就可以超英趕美,但最後面對八國聯軍,仍然係不堪一擊

馬田換光頭黃 —— 係 misjudged 天氣,領隊認咗,但他亦說了因為(1)我換半水,Max 之後都半水,唔會有賺。所以,我認為係博(2)「就係咁細雨」去贏,而且(3)後面有 24秒887 gap,值博率高,因此(4)錯判之後,下圈即刻再入 pit 轉 plan。至於呢個係咪之後「說法」,而非本來「想法」,咁就唔知啦

yes, AM is not ready at this point. But i actually tend to think their strategy aim regarding the written scenario is spot-on, aggressive but without luck.
