What I'm up to right now

First of all, a welcome to all new patrons, and a thank you to all the old ones for sticking with me!

If you follow any of my socials you'll know i've been posting some artwork in the past week - I recently got me an iPad pro, and have been drawing on it a lot to get used to it. I can already tell that it's two grades above any of my other gear, and I'm stoked to be using it for future projects! I'll be taking another week or so for just artwork - still got learning to do on the new apps, and some practice never hurt anyone's drawing skills.

Next I'm going to implement a new outfit option in the Toriel game. It's something I wanted to be in the game from the start, and won't take up too much of my time. I'll be releasing that in january - from now on I'll make an effort to release something every month, even if it's something small like that. Patreon isn't that well suited for the kind of longer-term development I'm doing, but that's what we've got. So I'll try to keep you guys on that monthly Patreon drip feed from now on 😎👍 It was suggested to me to add impregnation, and I do agree it would be cool, so maybe one of those little sperm-and-egg impregnation animations would be another small thing to add in an update. I'll of course still dedicate most of my time to working on whatever major thing is coming next, instead of incremental additions to older games.

Short term plans

So, the next project is going to be yet another single scene game like the two I've put out already. I have three major goals regarding that:

refactoring parts of the physics system, to improve modularity

A major goal of the code rewrite I did for Toriel game was to make the physics behavior of every body part modular, so I could easily define how any given part should behave without having to make many assumptions or allowances for special cases in the code. This goal was only partially succesful, and I did have to pull some tricks in the end. I have a pretty good idea on how to finally get it right for good, and it should only involve a partial rewrite of the physics code, rather than a full one, as was the case with Toriel game.

creating systems that enable more interesting viewing angles

You'll have noticed that the scenes in both Rouge and Toriel games are shot from quite boring "dead-on" viewing angles - straight from the back or the front. The reason for this is simple: it's what's the easiest to do! I don't want to be relying on such simple viewing angles for the rest of all time however, so the next game will feature something a bit more dynamic, far as camera angles go. Of all the goals for the next game this one has the most unknowns. I don't foresee any big trouble but maybe I'll be blindsided by having to do some faux-3D trickery to get things to look right.

ensuring reusability

Simple enough, I want to be able to make some new graphics, drop them into my animation system, and have it just work, being able to setup any kind of new scene with minimal coding. This should pretty much be the case already, but I want to make this aspect works the best it possibly can - I'm sure you can see how much time getting this right could save in the long run!

And that'll be the next project. For what characters it might feature, I have some kind of an idea already, but if you have any suggestions please leave them below!

Long term plans

Well, the writing has been on the wall for this one for a while I think, but Aluron, my big SRPG project that I originally put this Patreon page up for, doesn't have much of a future I'm afraid. The reason for this is simple and the same as ever - time. When I started the project I was an unmotivated university student in self isolation. I've since changed to a completely different, much more interesting program, and I'm just a lot busier in general these days. The prospect of making a whole-ass SRPG game all by myself wasn't a terribly realistic one even back then, much less now. What's more, In the time I've spent working on these smaller games, I've progressed so far beyond the work I did for Aluron both technically and artistically, that I would have to remake a crazy amount of assets if I were to continue on the project - the difference between the work I did then and what I'm capable of now would just be too jarring.

However! I don't plan to be stuck making simple one-shot games forever, and I have plans for a new major project, that I'll be starting on after the next game is finished. This game will also have a HMOFA harem theme. It will still feature some proper gameplay and story, though naturally not nearly as involved as what Aluron had, and it will be in a completely different genre. By making it much simpler and more sex-focused, I hope to be able to deliver content to you guys in a much more timely manner than a big game like Aluron would allow. I still have things to finalize and this post is winding hella long already (looks like I've spent almost two whole hours writing this lol), so I won't go into specifics yet - but I will before the next project is finished, and I'll have some concept art ready to go too!

It would be cool to be able to make the rouge game into its own thing with the option to have multiple characters. I was thinking not just a pallete and head swap of rouge but different body shapes and pussy types. The option to spread the pussy as well would be nice. Pubic hair options would be a big plus too. This is all probably pretty ambitious but I think these are still some solid recommendations.

Rouge game won't be receiving any updates I'm afraid. But once I get started on that bigger project I mentioned, you can rest assured that there'll be a very similar scene availeble with various characters and with a much greater variety of possible actions🧐
