Me and Pojodan have been talking about making something again for ages, so I decided to squeeze in one more animation commission. Since I've been experimenting with more stylized fur lately, it also seemed like a good excuse to experiment with more stylized backgrounds, and here's the result of my fiddling around with that. Gotta say, I'm liking it so far. :P

The best bit; rendering this scene takes all of 10 seconds. Mmm, that's the good stuff.

Expect an animation in this setting in the nearish future!

I need a model for vtubing and vrchat made by you you're so good

Gin

That's just, so pretty

ruaidri

Hah, thanks! Unfortunately I haven't quite learned now to make game-ready models yet, and when I do they probably won't look quite the same due to not being able to use particle-based fur. :P But it is on my mind to spend some time learning how to do it as some point, so that may be an option eventually!

ruaidri

Hee, thanks. I'm quite pleased with the result so far! Going to be interesting to see what this looks like in motion.

Gin

It kinda has a similar style to Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild!

Vtuber ready would be easier imo cuz all you need is it to be able to be used in something like veeseeface

Sentharn

Love it! Somebody's been eyeing the Ghibli tutorials :P

ruaidri

Hah, yup! I've had that one bookmarked pretty much since it was released, but never really had a good excuse to try it until now. With the new fur shader it's the perfect time to start experimenting with this sort of thing!

Bloudin Ruo

Oh whoa, I LOVE this! Definitely excited to see your animations in scenes like this!

Pojodan

So comfy! I was hoping you'd share this <3

FrothyInferno

Oooh, this looks really pretty!

BreezyBreeze

Man this looks so stunning and amazing. I love this style too, I've always been a fan of shading that looks like this.

Tattorack

This looks gorgeous!

Also, it only took 10 seconds to render that, along with the grass and fur? That's impressive.

ruaidri

Yeah! Turns out calculating shadows is a big part of the increased render time with fur, being able to turn that off makes a pretty huge difference to render times and keeps them short even with a lot of particles. I love it. :P

OurFavDolphin

Looks lovely asf :oooooo
