So while that latest animation I just posted to FA was rendering I found myself with little to do, so to pass the time I was screwing around with my little tablet computer I bought a while back for drawing on. While doing so I discovered that it's actually a pretty decent little sculpting/modelling machine and started fiddling around with something just for fun. I didn't have any major plans, was just playing around. But the animation kept having issues that needed me to go back and re-start rendering or do other fixes that ate up lots of time, so I kept having more and more time to just play with this random idea I was working on... it took so much time to render in fact that by the time it was truly finished this little otter was completely modeled, remeshed and rigged. So, uh, I guess I have a little otter now. Still WIP but coming along nicely so take a peek.

Version with fur coming soon, I guess! It's come this far, might as well finish it off.

Oh, also, since I know someone's gonna say it- I'm pretty sure otters aren't digitigrade, and I did mess around with plantigrade feet, but I like how this looks more and my rig is designed with digitigrade feet in mind so this otter just walks on it's toes, deal with it. x3

Oh wow ha, now time for otterspace exploration! So I think everything above the knees looks fantastic. Below the knees seems too thin when compared to the rest of the frame. Though that being said, the actual proportions are great! Length of the legs, bones, etc. I think it might need to just be beefed up to match the proportions of the body, without being too much that it throws off the style you've made for it. Pretty awesome output from just 'fiddling around'! :P

Otters are just foxes that are really good at swimming. Looks great, and I'm pretty sure I've seen other digi otts around. I mean, it's fantasy, and I know I've seen otters with dog and horse cocks, so mixing and matching in the foot department isn't the worst sin XD

I'd lick that shoulder :9 Otters are adorable!

They're definitely pretty small, but that's kind of intentional... I was basing it off some artists who draw in this kind of toony style and they always seem to have little tiny feets for some reason. I dunno, this whole model is experimental so I'm just kind of letting whatever happen. :P
