I feel about Nier the way Jim feels about Wildlands I guess. I've watched some streams and tried to see what's so special about it, but it comes back to a common issue for me: No Japanese influences in my youth ... SURELY I can't be the only one raised on C64s and Amigas, British children's television (until I got to high school we could only receive Australia's ABC) and far, far more books than movies? There's just so much assumed knowledge in most Japanese games that they always seem impenetrable to me.
