Dear lovely people,

As you may have noticed, the website remains unavailable currently as it continues to come under attack. While a minor inconvenience at best for yours truly, I understand it may be frustrating to the end users, and I can only apologize for any impact it's having on your browsing habits.

For those who may not have seen "that" review yet, it's fully mirrored thanks to Google Cache and some linkage from the unofficial Jim Sterling Subreddit, and you can read it here:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:zi1F5ZE4jvIJ:www.thejimquisition.com/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-review/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=safari

Reading a cached version won't harm me in any way, since the site isn't ad-supported and I don't track traffic to my writing. This is something that wasn't learned after the No Man's Sky thing, apparently.

I'm not a technical expert on even a joke level, but thanks to the continued Patreon support I long ago signed up for support from those better skilled. They've been automatically installing things to help out and are continuing to fight things for me.

I'll have a new Spin-off Doctors up very soon on Soundcloud and it'll hit the usual podcast services. Obviously on-site updates have to wait until this is finally dealt with, but as far as content goes, expect only minor delays in getting stuff out there.

Thanks for your patience and continued support.

Jim.

Fucking shameful of these people

Anonymous

dos attacking a website because of a video game review.

Anonymous

Don't let those pricks get to you lad! Keep up the good work.

Anonymous

Loved the video, still surprised as none of these people must have read your piece?

Anonymous

Fools will be fools, Thank God for you! :)

Anonymous

I'm currious what software you run on that server, and if there was anything that could be done to keep your side up more often. You've got Cloudfare which _should_ have taken the brunt of the attack.

Maur Razimtheth

The internet, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Elonchan

Thanks for keeping it up, Jim. You're my favorite critic and have been for years.

Jason Youngberg

It's really sad the Zelda fanatics are attacking your website for expressing an honest opinion. It may be a minor inconvenience, but the only reason why they're doing it is because they think it will be a major problem.

Anonymous

WE LOVE YOU, JIM.

Anonymous

This is so asinine. I hope you aren't under too much stress from this shit.

Alexander Moon

Christ this is ludicrous. Still think yours is the most level-headed BotW review I've seen, which is also why I continually support your endevours. While I know this will not in any way deter you, I get how annoying it must be to spend so much time defending yourself.

Anonymous

Oh, NOW I understand why your site is down. I hadn't read your review yet. Yes, how dare you give a Zelda game less than 10/10! 😜😂 what a bunch of whining losers. Same thing every time a reviewer has a different opinion on one of these holy grails.

Anonymous

We've got your back Jim. Keep it up. Honest people like you are what we need. Hell, you've inspired me to try and become a critic myself. Hopefully they'll be over it in a week or so. But even if they're not I'm glad you won't break or try to appease anybody. I'll definitely keep coming back for that quality reporting.

Anonymous

Because you didn't give it a 10/10 people freaked out? That is just sad. Everyone has different tastes and that's what makes us different and great. I read your review and found it fair and sound! If people are that petty to do that... They best lock themselves in a room somewhere and not interact with others. Thank god for you, Jim!

Anonymous

While I hope the site comes back online soon, I'm hoping we'll still get to read the comment section. It'd make for some fine tear brew.

Anonymous

Somehow I found myself able to completely disagree with your review, while not DDOSing your website. It took much self-restraint on my part but I managed to push through.

Anonymous

Well good luck with all that

Anonymous

*sigh* I was all excited about possibly getting BotW, but this whole thing has soured me on it, so I'll be waiting a few months to see what people ACTUALLY think once the hype is dead (remember Skyward Sword?).

Guess it's back to Dragon Quest Builders for me. Not that that's a bad thing by any means...

Josh in Tampa

Amazing how something this simple can get random internet losers worked up. Their lives must be so small and sad. Keep up the good work Jim. Nothing beats honesty. I don't always agree with you but I love the fact that I know what I'm getting from you is your true opinion.

Anonymous

I was going to go DDOS Nintendo's Twitter account for not releasing <insert darling="" fan="" game="" here=""> yet, but your inspirational tale of struggle has convinced me otherwise. Stay strong, brother!</insert>

Anonymous

That and they want to feel like they're helping their favorite series "win" in some way.

Wonder how many of them are part of the same crowd that stands behind Jim when he gives a "low" score to a game they *don't* like...

Jason Youngberg

I can't respond to your reply so I'll reply to this post. Yes on all counts. I understand their feelings. Some years ago the MMOs Wildstar and Elder Scrolls Online were released at the same time. Since they were competitors and you can really only play one MMO at a time, I went after ESO in some the comment section of a website. I did nothing on the scale of a DDOS attack, but I did feel that if I could tear down ESO a little bit it would encourage people to play Wildstar. That's what competition does, it encourages you to overhype your side while tearing down the other side. I don't do that anymore and it's discouraging at how much you notice things like that once you've stopped doing them yourself.

jimquisition

Yeah I am going to work on fixing the comment section when I get things back under control. The flood of activity there absolutely broke it.

Anonymous

I like your comment in your video. Paraphrasing I am so sorry you don't like BotW enough to be playing right and comment and DDosing me. I am going to go play a Nier and I like it unlike you and BotW.

Anonymous

On behalf of those morons who DDoS'd you, I'm sorry that you had to go through that. All you were doing is giving your honest opinion on a game, and they attacked your website to try to prove a point. Don't let those idiots take you down, and keep doing the good job you're doing. Thank God for you!

Anonymous

This is just pathetic! I honestly thought your Breath of the Wild review was one of the most grounded ones I had read.

artisticMink

Luckily, i have no diffliculty accessing thejimquisition.com. Just about thee seconds of cloud flares anti spam protection which seems to be under quite a bit of load.

Anonymous

I wasn't going to watch the review, since in yesterday's Jimquisition you said more or less everything I'd wanted to know about Breath of the Wild (it's good, but the weapon fragility system is tuned to the point where you may as well actually be wielding wet noodles in combat.) That being said, since the fan-man-stan-babies are throwing a seismic hissy fit, I think I'll watch/read it just to spite their bad behavior.

Anonymous

Have you ever considered posting the full text of your reviews here on Patreon for us to read, or do you not want to discourage visits to your site?

Anonymous

Keep fighting the good fight Jim. We're with you.

Anonymous

I <3 this

Josiah Lambert

I love you forever Jim. BOTW was well reasoned, even if I had a far more positive experience. The real problem with this game is constantly pausing to scarf down food.

Anonymous

Your review was fair and didn't full out hate on the game. Even though it is one of my now all time favorite games, I deeply respect your opinion and well you still liked the game. I agree with your point as to why they arent just playing the game instead of attacking you. Dirty little wankers.

Slazenger Kincaid

Hey Jim, I was a patron for a while and then had to stop giving to the few Patreon accounts I followed to save money. However because I find the way you are being treated by this big crowd of bullies so abhorrent that I am back on board not just to support the great work that you do. I also do it to say FUCK YOU to those who would try and silence you because their tiny egos can't handle a fucking 7/10 rating for a fucking videogame of all things. Keep up the great work, keep pissing people off and keep speaking your mind. I admire you greatly.

James Jackson

Jim, on behalf of all the other sane, rational Legend of Zelda fans who disagree with your review but want nothing to do with the simpering idiot trolls behind this nonsense, I thank god for you.

Anonymous

Same here. We can't have a real discussion when people drown out any actual dissenting opinions with oceans of babyrage salt.

Anonymous

I created an account and signed up to pledge to you just on the back of this event. Fight the good fight sir.

Anonymous

There is definitely a bot involved because it "searches" some ungodly thing before the DDoS pops up. "Searches" my ass! It is clearly trying to multiply my access by some astronomical number before I get to that magical place of nowhere.

Anonymous

There is clearly a DDoS bot involved when you access the Jimquisition website, so it probably would be a wise and fair move to avoid that website until we get the "all clear" notice from Jim.

Anonymous

I love your reviews and work, but you've been taking one stressful hit after the other. You take care of yourself and keep on being awesome.

Anonymous

I became a patron because of that DDOS attack. I saw your video l, wanted to read your article, clicked on it and was unable to do so. I has to take extra time out to pull it up on Google cache. I know it sounds like a small thing but, I have never felt so keenly that my rights had been violated. I was temporarily prevented from reading something that I wanted to read and evaluate for my self. May my one dollar a month contribute to that never happening again.
