They came, they saw, they reviewed. In the wake of a deserved 7/10 for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, I look at the "fun" thoughts Zelda's fans have shared with me.   

Of particular note is the old "you didn't finish the game" accusation. If only zealous fans realized what a horrible defense of a videogame that truly was.

I can see where the parts you didn't like came up, and... yeah, the game is about being fiddly and having reasons to search and optimize repeatedly. So it's not the perfect game for you, and that's fine ^-^

I struggled with the first game, the weapon degradation meant that each time I failed something and lost resources, it made the grind even harder. The retention of the same mechanic with new fiddly bits to make it suck a bit less for an even bigger time investment just gives me more reason to save my money on this one. As Nintendo rarely discount their games to any great degree I doubt I'll even pick it up on a whim in a few years.

I could see not playing a game completely being a problem when reviewing a game where the primary gameplay loop shifts, like frog fractions or a dark room for example. Though that's a very niche thing and usually these artsy games don't have hordes of hostile hardcores screaming about reviews. Great video! (Why's it age restricted though? Nintendo fans flagging furiously or youtube not liking tiddies?)

I sleep soundly only having finished 2 beasts in BoTW and fully accepting it just wasn't my type of game. I'm super excited for everyone who's playing the new one...it jus aint me

I have been playing this game for weeks and didn't know there was an outfit that makes you look like an anglerfish! And a paraglider that looks like a slime?! Wtf have I been doing with my time?
