Nintendo's manufactured scarcity is a commonly known deal, and it's just getting beyond ludicrous.

The NES Classic is the latest farce, shipping to stores in pitiful numbers despite well-known demand.

Basically, Nintendo's a fucked up toymaker thinking everything it makes is a goddamn Hatchimal, whatever the hell THAT is!

Just wanted to put this out there, I've just woken up, still sipping my coffee in my office working on a client's computer while listening to last week's Podquisition to catch up. THE MOMENT this got posted and arrived in my inbox, you were talking about "one lawsuit at a time" and how you don't want to jump the gun and talk shit about Nintendo, at that same moment I began reading the headline of this post and almost spat my coffee all over my laptop. This is why exclusivity is bat crap crazy, it stagnates new ideas and general advancement/refinement in everything all the while stagnating the flow of information and turning the market into a swamp.. Open up IP and give the IP owner a default 30% cut of any revenue made off it and turn trademarks into manufacturers stamps with the who/what/when/where info in them so people can support who they like without the suits and lawyers Jerry-rigging the market via artificial means. IE if you are not making revenue then you are exempt this means have page ads and donation ads,ect you have to pay up most of the time, but the technically you can have donations and ads on the home page, can't talk about donations in the content if you want to bypass paying up, fair use and public domain would be still in effect but anything making a profit would be more targeted than dancing babies and bad music/video mix tapes. PS: Yes I like the smell of my own bullcrap! LOL

Great episode really gave me a laugh this Monday morning. I saw a guy at Target trying to get one for his son and sure enough just like you said the Target employee said sorry we sold out this morning because we only received 2. I wonder how much they might do this at the beginning of the Nintendo Switch.

This is another case of American branches of Japanese companies shitting the bed, by the way - the Famicom Mini has no stocking issues whatsoever, and Amiibo were the same way, with importing JP Amiibo being significantly cheaper than buying them in your own region.
