Multiversus might be a geeky dream for crossover-loving consumers, but the whole thing is a really unsettling corporate flex when you actually stop and think about it.

Jesus Stirling, that was a great rolling word salad intro for your character, reminiscent of some of George Carlin's bits... specifically, Advertising Lullaby.

Love it, can we have the ferret in EVERY episode? Or at least maybe a featured segment where the two of you solve crimes?

the freddy vs jason crossover was the holy grail of this stuff for a few many years. Honestly felt disrespectful that we eventually got that movie and it was just ok.

Luna

I was definitely reminded of George Carlin too, and I cannot think of higher praise for modern wordplay.

Dying Breed

Bugs Bunny: “What’s up, Doc?” Aria Stark: “I gleefully murdered the man who slaughtered my entire family and the woman who orchestrated my sister’s marriage to her womanizing little brother that repeatedly raped her.” Bugs: “…”

Harry Moore

Bugs is unimpressed. Seriously the shit Bugs has done in his lifetime gets dark.

The first half of this video felt weirdly like a reactionary conservative being upset that the media they like has changed - really not something I'd associate JSS with saying sincerely, so I'm a bit concerned for their wellbeing/stress levels. Still, the second half had some interesting food for thought, so I'm glad I kept watching despite my initial misgivings. It would've been nice to see some discussion of crossover beyond the limitations of the for-profit world though. Fan-made not-for-profit crossovers can span a vast range of genres, tones and quality so they're not without issues, but at their best they can showcase some genuinely creatively appealing content using multiple IPs - especially if comparing and juxtaposing different story-worlds, characters and ideologies in a well-thought-out way. I feel like this is one major point against "if it happens too much it's not special" - surely whether something is special boils down to its quality, not how limited its distribution is?

If it makes you feel any better I couldn't give a crap about Mulitversus either, or anything churned out by Marvel/Disney for the most part.
