I've said it for years, FFXIV is only as good as it is DESPITE Square Enix, and was almost killed for literally the EXACT SAME REASONS so many of these other games have suffered. Their upper management save for a select few is severely hampered in their capabilities to even to the basic function of running their own business without relying on the sheer momentum of their properties rather than actual competency of management.

Yeah... Definitely agree with everything said in the video. Great video as always. This one hurt a lot since I was really looking forward to Chocobo GP as I loved the old Chocobo Racing for Playstation. But as time went on and they started announcing more and more live service bullshit I began getting worried. Now it's the dumpster fire it is today. I will not play that since, as Steph mentioned, I may eventually give in to the micro transactions. I really hate modern gaming...

So yeah, thanks for getting this Chocobo theme song stuck in my head. It hurts, and bashing my head in with a hammer seems more appealing every minute. Another enemy destroyed by Commander Sterling.

I enjoyed this video. I think it's overdue.... that said, I did really love seeing Jim cover a game, its mechanics/world design, and like... actually getting into game criticism again (on the main show) last week. It was nice to see, and I hope they'll dip more into bringing up things they like as the centerpiece and use that to contrast to the rest of the industry. Again tho, great video. 100 percent a banger.
