Steam Greenlight was designed to let customers vote on the games that looked most appealing, that they most wanted to buy.

It was a noble idea and an interesting way to allow indie games a chance at recognition.

Unfortunately, the well has been poisoned and the idea perverted to allow all manner of unwanted shite onto Steam. There is one particular vector of infection that must be taken to task.

It's a "publisher" that calls itself YOLO Army.

You know what could be an interesting episode? How stupid a company like Nintendo and Atlus is for unnecessary censoring Tokyo Mirage Session and giving out BullShit reasons to why they do it. While a game called Gal Gun: Double Peace, which you never expect to get localized, is coming to the West and is completely Uncensored. Pretty much the reason why I'm buying Gal Gun Double Peace day one, because I want to Support a game and a company that has the balls to not censored there game. Also here is a question, why is that we are viewed as regular decent people for playing over the top violent games, yet if we play an over the top fan-service game, we are viewed as Sick Pedo/Perverted people? I asked this, because someone in the comment section called me a Pedo Fuck just because I admit that I'm buying Gal Gun Double Piece because I want to support a company for not being afraid of releasing an uncensored game.

I figure it's more likely that you'll see my comment here than on your Youtube page. This is in response to your comment about people playing devil's advocate by saying the river of shit that flows through Greenlight isn't a problem. The fact that shitty games make it onto steam isn't a problem in itself. If these crap games were just buried underneath more crap games and never seen by any actual users, it wouldn't be a big deal. It would be like releasing a shitty game and putting it on Amazon, or any other digital store - no one would see it and it would die a quick, unnoticed death. But you're saying these games somehow actually make it onto Steam's front page? That would be a big problem if it were true. I've personally never seen any of these crap games making it to my front page, however. Is there a "featured from Greenlight" section of Steam that I'm overlooking? Or maybe your featured page looks very different from mine because of all the crappy Greenlit games you buy? Greenlight was supposed to be a temporary solution to a scalability issue that Valve had - when it was implemented Valve employees had to manually add games to Steam in what was apparently a somewhat tedious process. Greenlight was their way of asking which games they should spend their time on. Nowadays, I think they want to replace the whole thing with a completely automated process that just approves everything, and leave it up to community curators and suggestion algorithms to generate front pages and lists of good stuff. I feel like the problem here comes from wildly mismatched expectations - you still view Steam as this prestigious store front that only a select few excellent games can make it on to, and Greenlight is the community curated path to victory, where Valve views Steam as more of a giant, searchable store/payment processor and wants to distance themselves from the responsibility of highlighting their favorites.

I think a mouth hole would break the look, how about drilling some venting?

Vote bribing should not be allowed and anyone involved in stimulating it (Yolo Army and the game publisher) should be permanently banned from Steam.
