The sheer amount of money hoarded by videogame executives is astounding, especially when you're constantly told that videogames are too expensive to make.

Bobby Kotick just "halved" his pay, but is still in line to make hundreds of millions of dollars on top of the billions he has, and CD Projekt RED's five board members just gave themselves enough money to cover over 800 people. The way in which this money is accumulated is often corrupt in and of itself.

Meanwhile, employees are abused and underpaid. Videogames cut more corners and add more predatory economies. We're told there's not enough money, but the truth is there's MORE than enough. It's just constantly sucked out of the industry by parasites.

I appreciate the level of commitment to Bobby Kotick's horns.

You're right about gaming company executives, but it's not just them. American business in general has been decimated by these leeches. I spent many years working for a large company (you'd recognize the name) until senior executives bled it dry. They sold off the entire facility that was dedicated to new product development. Laid off the engineers. Outsourced all the IM and laid off the developers. And then they took huge bonuses based on *short term* savings. Of course there were no new products to sell so the next few years, the company went down the tubes. BUT those bonuses were paid and gone. This isn't a unique experience. Gaming companies are seeing the same. Kotick has a huge fortune and he took a 'pay cut' (heh) because after laying off so many people, the company has not been able to produce anything to sell. What a surprise.

Yeah, Sterling has said that these problems DO occur in all of the US's late-stage hypercaptialism corporations. It's just, Sterling feels they are a video game critic, and so feels it would be outside their niche they've carved out for themselves to talk about this being in all American corporations.

There's an excellent book on the problems with these types of overpaid, heavy-handed executives at Disney called Disney War. It focuses on Michael Eisner, but you could apply many of the observations to other executives.

I'm starting to get the feeling whoever makes those 'stock video involving money' clips are making them purely for the Jimquisition at this point.

I would like to nominate the dog as chief executive of the companies.
