The problem with Minecraft Dungeons is that while it's the simplistic childish game many people may have expected, it's not actually what a Minecraft spin-off should be.

Minecraft, while popular with kids, is deep and complex and imaginative. Minecraft Dungeons is rudimentary and restrictive by contrast. Hell, it's rudimentary and restrictive without comparison. It is, in my opinion, the antithesis of what a Minecraft game ought to provide for its audience.

Dungeons' babyish simplicity patronizes Minecraft fans of any age.

It feels to me, now I've tried it for myself, like they're just trying to spread out on the consoles without coming up with anything new. Minecraft Tetris next... and then, Minecraft Arena. Very boring experience, very bland. And *very* irritating k&m controls (pretty much holding one mouse button). Seems very well polished, but just... boring. After all the hype, extremely disappointed.

I think it goes with the linear thing to say that if it is not done well... Look at path of Exile and Torchlight -as Jim rightly mentions ;), they are both good examples of that kind of game, and they subtlety make you think about your movements - that is the beginnings of a good game no? something so simple, yet forgiving ; adding so much depth... Well forgiving is not the word i give Path of Exile but... xD - Nice vid thx!
