Another long form editorial from your ol' pal Jim Sterling. I wrote about Capcom's recent renaissance, a comeback in terms of creativity, commercial success, and critical acclaim.

It's nice to say nice things for a change!

"Fast forward to January of 2018, and Resident Evil 2 is" might need to change that Jim :P

I'm glad to see you're writing again Jim. <3

Holy Zen!

What? No love for Mega Man 11?

You are doing a positive video? Hmmm... I know I say all the time that's what I want you to do but now that you are actually doing it I probably shouldn't watch.

If I had one bit of criticism, it'd be that next to your name there is a crown.... I think a title belt would be better.

Jim Sterling i did study media and journalism back in the late 90's (it was mainly about Diana and the shit hacks that not helped on real journalism). Since then this craft has been used and abused for so long it's even hard to trust papers and the BBC . Journalism and reporting got me out of being a working class barrel of shit not wanting to do anything. Thank you now i am speaking as seeing and being in a form of poverty, You sweet man have given a voice to people like me that given up hope on progress. In my very dippy opinion, this is the benchmark of how journalism and criticism should be. Thank you i am crying with joy as i type this and i hope that others understand "THE CONTEXT" (sorry, but that has been a changing thing that noone gets). Thank god for you, thank god to the angry person that reads this and to the rest of you, thank god for you as well whoever your god is . If your studying MEDIA ref and throw a dollar at jim (no not literally at him)!

I remember thinking "Monster Hunter coming to PC? Awesome!" Then thinking "ah, but they'll probably fuck it up with lootboxes" and then being really happy when they didn't.

I loved the article, it's genuinely heartwarming to see that Capcom can publish these amazing single-player games in this modern day and age. Where the Western publishers are driven only by their immediate profits, the East seems to take a different approach. Sony, Capcom, From Software... in the recent years it has been mostly these publishers/developers whose work I've learnt to love and appreciate. PS: I have literally wept out of joy during the opening cutscene of the first mission of DmC 5. This game is just pure joy for to see, hear and play.

Holy crap.... video games I might want to play?! That hasn't happened since the early 90's! And Jim Sterling is HAPPY and saying GOOD THINGS?! It's either the apocalypse or some game company bigwigs have realized the obvious!.... I'm betting on the apocalypse, it's more likely, but one can hope right?
