I dunno I get to many Namco/Bandi Capcom 2.0 vibes of destroying the game via the update, the PVP is an utter shitty mess because they are trying to force vague matchmaking using DS3 and item discovery flags that force you to go online ONLY with people who found the same weapons…. Forget using the DPS or whatever… They are far to cheap to run a simple DPS and damage resistance calculator and log 10-20 minutes of play then calculate totals and match people up that way they are also too cheap to moderate any type of hacking without soft banning people who play offline for a bit. It’s a great game series and all but sadly Namco/Bandi has sucked the life out of it…. Its worth the 20$ if you have PTDE...kinda.... PS:Don't forget the new more janky physic's making rag doll more bouncy and makes enemy NPC more flaoty...

Here is my Dark Souls story as (maybe) answer to the question posed: Since I saw the first game back in the day, with some personal bias against action RPGs, I got never hooked on the series. Looking at following installments only cemented my own mild disinterest formulating like 'ok, people say it's good, it's not for me though, maybe I get it some other time'. Now counting myself as a potential customer to be persuaded by the remaster, they really did a most basic job of it and it cannot convince me to invest into the series. Sad maybe, but not my loss.

I agree with your points about the remaster. It's a bit sad that Fromsoft didn't push the remaster further and really fix all of the glaring issues (like Bed of Chaos). Especially since they admitted Bed of Chaos was a mistake. I also loved the change of filming location. Very brave to film in Lordran. 😉
