Those paid mods that Bethesda said weren't paid mods turned out to be paid mods and also worse than paid mods.

The Creation Club has gifted a bounty unto Fallout 4, and it looks like things are little too much like microtransactions and mods got welded together horrifically.

Oh look, more futile attempts at making paid mods a fucking thing. What next, monthly subscriptions to play single player games?

Finally someone who speaks openly against this! Other Fallout youtubers are too much busy "giving this a chance". We all know what will happen if this is allowed to stand. They don't deserve a "chance", this is microtransactions and I don't want any of them in my single player RPG.

"Why can't he be more positive?!" The same people asking MST3K "Can you all shut up, I'm trying to watch the movie!"...seriously, that was one of the most common complaints they got when they were on TV.

If you don't stand up for this then it will become the norm. I would hate to see mods end up costing money across the board. I fucking knew Bethesda would try something like this again. Bethesda make some decent games but Skyrim without mods (at least on PC) is a very mediocre dated experience.

So what is the problem exactly? That you can download these "minidlcs" from nexus or wherever for free? Is that really a problem? That you can but don't have to pay for mods? Like when you go to youtube for free videos but you can also go on patreon to support your favourite content creator if you want.

the problem is that if bethesda can get away with having people pay for free content then others will think it is something they can do as well and eventually free mods will be shut down and paid mods will be the norm the sims1 did it and it really fucked custom creation up for a few years with creators hiding behind paywalls or just leaving the modding community entirely while scavengers stole content to put up in the official pay community and ea took a cut through subscriptions

Thanks Jim! The sounds effects are a nice touch and please, keep pointing out the "insipid" criticisms you notice.

Excellent coverage as always, Jim. I'm so disgusted when companies pull this horseshit.
