You have no idea how badly I needed music like this right now. Truly one of my favorites of 2023.

i personally think circle is such a holistic album in a sense that circle represents the emotional journey you go thru as a human being - the longing, the loneliness and depression, the happiness and feeling of acceptance, only for it to circle back. Emotion is fleeting, and that’s what this album conveys. Even the song placements in the album is so smart as it really goes you thru the ups and downs of life. It also gives you a peek of what Onew has been thru (if you’re a long time shawol, you know) and him singing how he’s learned to accept himself even thru what sht life has given him is very healing as a fan.

a fellow shawol described, that while jonghyun is our poet/artist, onew is our painter. even when your eyes are closed, even when you don't even know the lyrics, his voice paints a picture with each song, that you totally understand everything. there is warmth, comfort and healing, just from his voice.

Onew will do that to you. His performances are always so full of emotion and his voice and personality are so healing. This album is just so comforting to play from start to finish.

That's how it is with shinee, no one can really stay your favorite for too long lol. So glad you liked the album!!! I'm glad you got to hear this one too because it was after a few other mini's he'd done so he's really starting to get a feel for his own style as a soloist and this album has a good mix of happy and sad songs with interesting melodies like you said! I'd really be interested in seeing you react to a Jonghyun album actually, he's got such a fantastic voice as well. My personal recommendation would be his first album "She Is" cause it's also got good variety!
