Being a trainee at 8 is wild lol. But I guess if you've got the money... it makes sense to invest into building skills into your kids 🎓

I believe Jihyo started her "training" to be an actor. And somewhere down the line transitioned into the idol trainee program. So she wasn't training to be a singer since she was 8, more likely since she was 12-13. But she was still taking vocal classes since the beginning so they probably saw the potential after a while and recommended to her/her parents to move to the different program. So technically starting with acting at age 8 isn't as bad as starting the idol training at that age.
