It isn’t mentioned in the show but Minhyun was also part of HYBE’s boy group NU’EST before they disbanded. You’ve seen him before on Game Caterers

The one you pointed out was Krystian. Mnet is very known for evil editing, especially the Chinese trainee’s in both Girls and Boys Planet. Some people defended that the group had a lot of Chinese members and that he was just translating and that the subtitles was translated wrong so it got taken out of hand but in the same time, looking at the fotage, it’s also hard to only blame it on evil editing so people got very divided on him after this episode aired

A lot of promotions was released before the show aired. I don't know everything that happened since I wasn't super interested in the show until after it had already ended but stuff like the signal song was released before hand and all the trainees had at least two chances as far as I know to meet people at a public event to bring up more hype for the show so people knew most of the trainees before the show even hit the air

As a Swede I don't know if I should take offense or not to the fact that you thought the show was filmed in Sweden because some of the audience was white😂

Okay so to maybe clear up your confusion about all the fans knowing these trainees already, yes many trainees are well known before debut and have passionate fans. They consume everything, be it covers or videos or whatever, a few of them already were in a group prior (like Up10tion and Pentagon for example 😉), many trainees are famous because of their company. I read comments like that all the time when a new group debuts, in the vein of "i'm so glad he finally could debut, i've been following him for a while, he's so talented" etc. It's just some sort of pre-fame, i'm also sure there are some people who are just there because it's a TV show and they're very excited because of that.

They released the signal song performance before the show even aired. Also, a lot of the trainees have debuted before. Remember TOO from Road To Kingdom? Woong Gi and Seung Min were in that group. Some of these guys are still in active groups. There is also a handful that have been on previous survival shows. For example, Keita was on YG Treasure Box and was almost in Treasure. Also, some of the foreign trainees have followings in their own countries.
