I LOVE watching you react to Superband... it really is such a treasure trove of talent... One day I'll need to request some of the people's OG groups they are from. D.COY is actually a group but sadly they're pretty silent since one of their vocalists left. Their bassist was in the group you saw them use his room.

How can you say you've never see Yeji doing a cute song when literally in your last superband session you watch her singing "The house i used to call home" which was so fucking awesome. Maybe you're jsut getting old XD

Thank you for reacting to this and your acknowledgement of Kim Yeji. Also, this is me requesting "Legends Never Die". It's noisy, but I imagine you'll still like it.

YESSS. okay. first of all: this was round 3 part 2, the last set of videos you watched was round 3 part 1. so you saw the eliminations for overall round 3. as they said, now we have round 4 free choice, and then the final eliminations + group making happens, and then semifinals, and then finals. getting there... also, i can't remember if i've told you this before so i will again -- this show was quite popular. like, i'm pretty sure queendom 2, to compare, had a highest recorded rating of less than 2%, and kingdom was far lower. superband 1 had an average rating of 3% and superband 2 was even higher, reaching up to 7.5% iirc. i'm only saying this to tell you that korea DOES have an audience for rock music! btw, i just got early bird tickets yesterday to the busan international rock festival in october :D which i think is the biggest rock festival in the country. very hyped! for i will survive: this was actually the most popular and watched performance of round 1 and drew a lot of people to the show. i think there was a real thirst for this kind of music actually. crackshot went from years of performing at tiny venues with no recognition to being recognized in public after this performance. honestly i forgot how lazy i was when i did this haha, so many parts watching now i was like "why didn't i sub/comment that..." the "i will survive" song was a cover of a korean rendition of the english song by a singer in the 90s. and you're correct, the title in korean is something like "i'm okay" haha. i agree that this season is both more rock-ish, and overall has better quality. because of the success of season 1, a lot more people knew about it, contestants were more driven and higher quality due to the competition, and everyone knew they had big shoes to fill. for the rock thing, i think the show was purposefully angling for it. i have said before that season 1 the producers were searching for a more mellow coldplay-style band, and this season i really felt like they were searching for a korean imagine dragons (also, i hate them too, fuck that one apocalypse song). you asked if any performances bombed - i can't remember any where anything seriously went wrong. but a lot of performances get lots of criticism from the producers. one performance in round 1 (which honestly, i really liked) was slammed so hard they immediately eliminated every member of the team except 1. also random, i knew exactly what you were doing before you said it when you reached over to touch your arm, because i do that all the time. i have a full sleeve on my left arm and it gets raised a lot, usually when it's dry or irritated. i recommend regular moisturizing for better long term care :) specific performance comments: no surprises - i love that you loved it -- i also adored this one. it was so powerful and also really established nokdu as a talented musician who isn't just limited to producing synthpop songs but is an excellent singer and just interprets the songs he performs well. the producers didn't really love it -- i can't remember well at this point, but i remember thinking afterwards that nokdu was kinda bitter like "guess i'll just do synthpop then" so i think they didn't really like him branching out higher ground - this is my favorite performance in the entire show. if i ever said this about any other performance i fucking lied, because this is it. i told robert i wasn't sure you would connect to it in the way i do and i am happy to have been wrong. the sound had me hooked from the very start and i couldn't believe they could create that atmosphere from four guitars. and i just really love the guitar (i play some myself) and was going to be a sucker for a guitar-focused team anyway. it really blows my mind how magical a song they put together, how unique the arrangement is and different from the original while still bringing out the song. also YES that you noticed haeun, she's actually my top contestant of the season!!!! her performance skills are insane on top of her musicianship, she is absolutely mesmerizing when she plays fun fact, she was in a movie with hong isaac (crazy god voice from the first season)??? it was a musical but not like a broadway musical, like a movie about musicians so there was music in it boomerang - lol, i feel pretty similarly to you. honestly i was a bit disappointed. i really love seulong (the drummer - who you noticed, yay!) for his creativity, musicianship and overall quirkines/well-rounded-ness, but i thought kitak was just ok because basically i wrote him off as super basic/boring. i have since sweetened on kitak, i think he has a great voice and is an excellent guitarist (and overlooked for that in favor of his voice), but i still think it's a bit of a shame for seulong's mind to be wasted on imagine dragons. the performance was fun though. i just think it's not anything any other band couldn't have done, you know? the producers loved it though, and my theory as mentioned is that basically this is the band they were looking for when they started the show, palatable rock music that the public could love and see as a worldwide korean rock band.

can't believe i wrote more words in this comment than the words in all the subs i did probably

Qwarky

Sad? yeah maybe it has a bitter-sweet feeling to it. It makes you emotional but sad i don't think so. It obviously just a personal opinion on it :) i didn't mention it but it was a great video and thanks beck for the request as always

Song

Hah! I noticed that they skipped the second part of verse 2 of You Outta Know…I guess we still aren’t ready for “And are you thinking of me when you fuck her” 😂

KpopPrince

"I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it."

KpopPrince

Ah I love hearing your takes on each performance! It's pretty wild how similarly we feel about them. I wish they had produced digital versions of performances like No Surprises and Higher Ground.
