Haven't watched your reaction yet, but I loved Starlight and the Skit; Out of the Solo songs my favorites were Yoohyeon's and Dami's, but they are all good in their own way. I was impressed with how they all have their distinct genre on this album, and they really fit!

I totally get what you mean about Starlight; normally I need the bridge to be really different and provide a break, but in this case its very satisfying as a continuation. Honestly I didn't know Always was a fan song, haha. But it makes sense with the vibes I got. The Skit reminds me of Undertale music, that like... super sentimental but also inspirational shit.

around 23 minutes that was dami just sang different than usual

Damis solo for sure gave me pure nostalgia serotonin as well. A pop punk title track from them would be make me so damn happy. Damis, Gahyeons, Jius, and Suas are my favourite solos for sure. I love the playfulness and comfort that both Gahyeons and Jius solos give me. Suas solo is just so driving and fun to listen to. The group songs are solid but none of them seriously grab me like Silent Night or Black Or White from previous releases. Locked Inside A Door came the closests to me. The groovy processed guitars and bass are really appealing.

So, for me the video ends at an hour and 4 seconds, just before the end of Yoohyeon's song. No one else has mentioned anything so I dunno if I just missed something regarding the other 2 songs but it cuts off right in the middle of your sentence so I feel like it's probably not intentional.

Since its a longer video you have to download it or add it to your dropbox to watch it in its entirety

IndigoAir

Ah okay, first time I have encountered that issue so that's what I meant about feeling like I was missing something! Thanks for letting me know :)

I usually upload the 1hr+ videos to Vimeo because you have to download them on crappy Dropbox. But Queendom keeps my weekly upload limit on Vimeo pretty full. Only have 20gb/week at the moment

Wow, I did not know about the origin of the personal carbon footprint thing, but that makes a ton of sense. These companies 🙃 Totally agreed with what you said in that section by the way. But anyway, onto the album, I really love it! I think working out a ranking is very difficult, because as you said, there's so much variation in the album. But my 5 favourites would be Starlight, Locked Inside A Door, Entrancing, Cherry and Always. I agree that it doesn't have much of that typical Dreamcatcher sound, but then again I don't think the Summer Holiday b-sides really had that either. They're definitely trying some new things lately, but I think they're doing a great job with it so far.

Yep, her singing tone is often way different to her rap tone. Her Rockabye cover and the Shadow OST show what she can do pretty well.

Yes, the blameshifting of environmental issues has been insane. Sweden's very big on recycling, reuse, and low-energy housing, and I'm all for that, but you look at charts of the big picture and... yeah. Dami's beeped part in Locked Inside A Door is basically the Korean "oh, for fuck's sake". 😁 Love that, and love that song a lot. That one is the kind of songs that makes me want to get up and move. Love Dami's rapping on this album overall, her BEcause rap wasn't to my taste exactly but she slays on here. Starlight and Always are the group tracks I'll come back to the most, beautifully put together songs. Funny how Whistle and Starlight and two of my favorite DC tracks now, and they're the most un-DC songs in their discography. 😂 Out of the solos, I think Cherry, Entrancing and Playground are my favorites, but it keeps changing. The solos all feel very "them". Seriously though, every single track on this album has found a home in at least one of my playlists. I actually really like how their style has been maturing and they're not just retreading old ground, so this is a 10/10 for me. And yes, the interlude should've totally been a full song!

Your comments on Entrancing are spot on by the way, part of why I love it so much is that it reminds me of this: https://youtu.be/XqPm7aiYIk8 ... Which is very nostalgic for me, personally.

I never played any of the Tales games, outside of the one on 360 for a bit. Vesperia? Totally see it though.

seekified

The Tales series was my shit for a long time, I emulated the SNES original as a ten-year old, got Symphonia for Christmas in 2003 and then played every single one of them since. Often very tropey stuff, but it's like... I dunno, comfort food JRPG with great battles.

IndigoAir

Ah that explains why I haven't encountered the issue before. I am finally going to finish it now, I went to bed early last night cuz I stopped drinking coffee and it took a while to download but I am excited for Dami's solo the most.

IndigoAir

Okay my ranking for the group tracks is pretty solid; Starlight Maison Always Together Locked Inside A Door In terms of Together I really like club/dancey music generally but the chorus is my least favourite part. I've listened to the album a few times now and your reaction and my opinion hasn't changed, it just doesn't flow right or something. For solos it's a lot harder but I think my favourites are JiU's and Dami's. I typically don't like ballads either but the ones on this album were really good, similar to what you said there just has to be something unique/special about it or I get bored.

randomAlienVisitor

that was definitely Dami, she has sang high like that in a few past songs. Also she has an OST with Siyeon where she is singing super high. it was also correct about that being Sua, when you said you thought it was wrong.

randomAlienVisitor

they performed all of the solos at the concert plus a couple more songs. each solo had its own stage
