I'll always love a double time outro, I think back to CLC's 'Black Dress'

I also don't get where people are hearing the 'Savage' like switch ups 🙃

So where do i start: first of all except if PK outdid themself later this year with an other comeback this will be my AOTY (with maybe Dreamcatcher having a full album soon could top this one). Now the songs: "Illusion": by far their greatest intro, that middle east sound is so pleasing and i hope more songs use it "memeM": What an aggressive beat but i enjoyed every second of it. Everyone rapping was pleasant surprise and as i mentioned on YT the way they used Swan in this song is insane. Goeun killed it too don't get me wrong but man Swan is really something else in Kpop, her voice is absurd. Fantastic TT "Oh my Gosh": Yes Chaein is the "main composer" of this masterpiece but i have to say that it has clearly Cosmic girl/sound hands all over it (their are the 2 other credited producers). They made many of the best MMM's B-side and i can't explain you the amount on joy when i saw they worked with Chaein on this. Cuz man i can tell you if they guide and form Chaein she will deliver so many bangers in the future. I'm so glad she got the chance to work with them, they always serve insane rich and stacked instrumentals. "Pretty Psycho": So now i understand why "Freaky Purky" wasn't on H&S. It was because they decided to make gigantic banger. The groove on this one is strong, the bass line is so good. Such a cool catchy track. "Joah": OOF, this is where Chaein works truly shines for me, what a great song. And it's still amazeme how yuki can slide a rap verse who never feel out of place in this type of songs. She is really Moonbyul's little sister XD "HHL": I have the same feeling that you on this one. It reminds me of a early 2010 summer pop track but with the PK touch on it. A simple song but so effective. "Cursor": There something about this song that i can't explain but every time i heard it today ( about 6-7times) i started tearing up/crying. Is it the way the song start with only Chaein and the guitar, is it when you just hear her voice with no music or the rise just after. I didn't even read the lyrics but this one touch me for some reason. This album surpass H&S for me in every way possible and it was my last year AOTY but RBW did the work. From having Cosmic girl/sound on the album, to KDH deciding to release back to back Honey and memeM and for letting Chaein working on 3 songs. Once again a no skip album. Goeun and Swan have some insane run in this album, for me Dosie and Ireh and Jieun have all great shinning moments in the whole album and Yuki just being Yuki as always. I also don't get the "Aespa siwtch up" but maybe PK doing girl crush upset some ppl idk. I hope they recover well and fast from Covid so we can have a ton of content to enjoy. I especially want them back on Moebidic

I also don't see "switch up" in Mem Mem. I do think Mem Mem is challenging. Not to the degree of an atonal work, but when Goeun and Swan are sliding through those amazing vocal runs they are not hitting the notes you would expect in a normal melody. There's also the bpm changes and the dissonance in the piano in the Mem Mem hook. Also I see Swan's part channeling Billie Eillish to be very reminiscent of the dance break in Ponzona. Nearly every reactor I see has the same jaw drop reaction as that. Let me be clear, this is not criticism it is just commentary. These are things that make this song not like the other boys and girls. I do love it, but I can't just relax and vibe with it. My favorite here is Cursor and Pretty Psycho, though Oh My Gosh is moving up. So Why and Twinkle are still my favorite b sides, but I think I like this album a little better overall.

My not enjoying the title track has nothing to do with any crazy switch-ups or anything, I agree that the song sounds cohesive overall. My main issue is that I personally just really don't vibe with that first part of the chorus and the specific instrumentals used behind it. That's where I was hearing the Savage similarities, and that kind of sound just isn't for me personally. I do really like other parts like the post-chorus and bridge though, so maybe it'll end up growing on me. Really enjoyed the b-sides though, Pretty Psycho and Cursor are the stand-outs for me.

Listening to memeM from 0:50 to 0:57, it's very Savage. And then for Swan's Billie Eilish section, the song just kind of stops while she's doing it and I just don't feel that part at all. Now, throughout my teens and twenties, I listened to prog metal, so I'm very used to songs that evolve and change, but those songs are usually 7-15 minutes long, so they have a lot more time to do it. When you do stuff like that in a 3-minute track, it becomes very abrubt to me, and I think that's where I struggle a bit. That's fine - it's just a song and it doesn't matter. I've warmed up a bit to memeM now after having listened to it a bunch over the last 24 hours, and there's plenty of good stuff in it, but I'm not sure it'll ever be a song that I go look for. My listening habits are also the exact opposite of yours. 😂 These days, I mostly listen to music when I'm just chilling or need to calm down, so the high-energy, explosive tracks need to do some pretty specific things for me to vibe with them. I'm completely in love with Pretty Psycho (and I do like Freaky Purky more than Illusion). Great atmosphere, murderous bass line, Yuki being Yuki. HHL does that thing I liked about some I Never Die tracks where you have a confident rap line on top of a very chill instrumental. Cursor is my favorite though, it just does everything so very, very right for me. It's so heartfelt, deliberate and strong. Really hoping to see new variety insanity from them over the next few weeks, when they're all healthy.

the black background is real old school lyric video stuff. a lot of Minx and Dreamcatcher's first album lyric videos are dark or black backgrounds. Idk why lyric video makers use black with text that is also dark lol

i agree with you, i definitely like Hide and Seek more personally. I think Cursor is my favorite off the album.
