I largely just use the thumbnail of the original video all the time and for some reason they decided to only put Super Junior members on here and nobody from Xdinary Heroes haha

Lol. Did you not listen to a lot of pop punk rock growing up? Their are different types of pop punk. The structure of “Happy Death Day” is so much like what I grew up listening too. That is why I love it. Its like a weird mixture of Pop punk, rock, electronic and their own twist. It’s a song that is better live in concert 😆 It’s catchy for me and I get the “ha ha” part stuck in my head

Bands like Jawbreaker, Leatherface, Avail. Doesn't really remind me of any of that. I guess it's just a song without any bite or attitude for me, more of a facade of that. Sometimes I need to take a step back and remember it still needs to be palatable for a kpop audience in Korea. But I know everything isn't going to be for everyone and I'm glad you like it!

Also…it’s crazy to say…but I have been watching weekly idol since it debut 10 years ago 😱 It will be 12 this year. I remember when second gen artists were on it. It has been a staple since 2011. I have been into kpop since I first say “replay” by Shinee in 2008. 😆

It's gone through some changes yet lasted! I like that there's a staple show like this.

Me too! I am also happy with the current hosts. Eunhyuk and Kwanghee are amazing and make The idols feel so comfortable. I think it’s because they are both idols themselves so they know what could make them uncomfortable etc

We can agree to disagree lol while I, of course, would love to hear a song from them where their vocals can shine more I also enjoy when someone can use their voice in unique ways and add different color and personality to what they do vocally rather than the same old same old but I will admit I have an aquired taste a lot of the time and like more "weird" songs or sounds. Either way, i'm sure they will show a great variety in the music they release if these covers have any indicator of that and I can't wait to see what they do and where they go next! I'm glad you enjoyed seeing more of their personalities and that you still appreciate their talent even if you didn't like their song. Also, as a HUGE BMTH fan of both of their older more death metal stuff to their newer "radio friendly" stuff (though tbh their newest album was heavier than their previous "pop punk/alt rock" stuff and I would recommend checking it out if you have time) Drown is one song that I really like though it is on the lighter "pop punk" side. There is indeed not a rap in the original but since O.de and Gaon both rap they decided to do some rap making and add it to the song to make it more their own! Also, I agree! It's so annoying to see how these shows that are more used to idol music mix band performances when they go on. Like band music isn't meant to be clean cut and precise, it's meant to be loud and emotional, especially a Bring Me The Horizon song! I would love to see Xdies perform this cover live at a concert or something so I could hear it in full force lol Also also, yes Gun-il did in fact go to THE Burklee College of Music
