I don't even know what my favorite track is. It's all too good. Everybody I've seen react has been talking a lot about Yuki, and for good reason. The fact that she's so incredible already is amazing in and of itself, and that's even forgetting that she's not Korean, she's this good in her second language.

This is one of the best albums I've listened to this year really. So Why was Chaein's song that she wrote/composed and this along with Skip Skip that she did too, Chaein songs hit fucking different. I've had a hard time ranking songs really, though Twinkle and Cast Pearls before Swine are probably my absolute favorites, followed closely by So Why. Just ROTY things really. RBW seems to be targeting international audiences with PK tbh, based on how they've handled them and the sound their songs have had. Hope they get more domestic recognition too though.

"I'm fucking gonna marry this album" i laugh so hard 😂, also i totally relate to the feeling of realizing that you're becoming a "rbw stan" just in the sense of appreciation of what their artists, team of producers and songwriters can do. It is really impressive.... btw Twinkle kinda had a lambada feeling to me lol really love it.

"So Why" is Chaein's baby. Its the first PK song with no producers whatsoever credited. Chaein wrote and composed it herself and Yuki added her rap. The TALENT

I can listen to their voices all day, they're just too good. And I agree, the production and arrangement for all the songs are amazing! I can't say what my favorite track is yet because they're all great but I find myself gravitating towards Twinkle and ZzZz. I do hope we get a full album from them soon. Mamamoo has two full albums: Melting and reality in BLACK. Fun fact: aside from CyA's participation in writing the lyrics for Zombie, Kanghyun did the guitar for So Why and Twinkle! That emotional guitar you mentioned in Twinkle is definitely signature Kanghyun.

32:58 the person who started "ZzZz" was Dosie, not Chaein. They performed it live on Moonbyul's radio show btw! Dosie and Ireh both have some really great parts

I'm so satisfied with Purple Kiss. I knew that Swan, Goeun, Yuki, Chaein and Dosie are great performers and singers/rappers, because they truly got time to shine in their debut album and their performances, but this time even Ireh and Jieun had wonderful moments and fair lines. I feel like singing-wise Ireh, Jieun and Dosie really improved a lot (or had more chances to showcase it). Tbh the line distribution was the only flaw of their first mini, and now they solved it. I can't rank the two minis, they are both great with totally different vibes, so maybe it's not even necessary. However while I adore Twinke, CPBS and ZzZz, Period is still my favourite PK song - actually, currently it's top5 on my 2021 kpop songs list. I have really high hopes for Chaein. She's going to be really huge in the future, I can see it. And Yuki is such a natural rapper. I'm used to not expecting much from foreign rappers in kpop, but Yuki totally destroyed this stereotype - and the fact that she's not only talented in her flow and delivery, but already a good lyricist? I can't wait to see them improve even more. PS: The translation is accurate for the pearl necklace on a pig's neck part! It's a Korean idiom for cast pearls before swine. A pig will never wear a pearl necklace and even if it did, it won’t know the value of it, whether it is high or low. Also it's a ridiculous picture to imagine, but even if the pearl necklace is objectively valuable and important, the pig wouldn't care, because it's not eatable - and maybe it can't even see it.

Love hearing your thoughts! I have similar feelings about Chaein and her immense talent. I think it's hard to compare these two mini-albums as well. I'll just take them as two fantastic releases! Never knew about that idiom, thanks 😊

I think 2am is now my favourite Purple Kiss song, I'm completely in love with it. It's probably not one that's going to grab a lot of people's attention, but the jazzy style of it is totally up my alley. I adore Twinkle and So Why too though, there's so many great songs here. The talent Purple Kiss have as a rookie group is absolutely crazy, they're such an exciting group. And I'd definitely recommend checking out more albums when you have the time. I mean, I love this album, and I'm not even sure if it's in my top 10 albums of the year so far. There's been so many incredible releases in 2021.

This album and Zombie had to sit with me until I played the album through a second time and just really immersed myself in it. Every time I think that Ireh is my bias, I go and get wrecked by the other six. I know my eyes gravitate to Ireh naturally but dang PK is just THAT group, hard to keep a bias and they’re just so well rounded, the colours they have are just WOW. Yuki has just gone from strength to strength, I know what you mean when you mentioned her pre debut solo “who cares” I thought it was a bit to bubble gum. There are times where Yuki mentions that Moonbyul helps her with her raps and lyrics and that she asks Moonstar about rapping quite a bit, you can hear it too, she has come such a long way from only a few months ago. RBW really is a house of musicians. So much in-house creativity and real instruments being used way more in all their groups than I'm used to seeing elsewhere. This album is very different from Into Violet, but I think there are more songs that I'll keep coming back to on here. Skip Skip is the only song off Into Violet that I still (ironically) never skip when it comes on in the shuffle, but here there's a whole bunch. I agree Twinkle is especially awesome. 😁 I'm kind of in agreement with Kaia that the only group that could threaten their ROTY position for me personally is PIXY, who just announced one heck of a comeback roadmap with two MVs. Hide & Seek will be very hard to beat, though.

JUST FUCK MEEEEEEEE!!!! This album hit me like few musics did! I actually teared up a bit listening to it (and i'm really not a very emotional person). They improved like it's been 3years they doing this. Without any offense to any groups if they are not ROTY it will be a scam. RBW does mostly in-house production. They are know for their producers, actually the company was a producing one before debuting Mamamoo with the CEO being a really really famous producer. At the point that MMM was living from their producing side of the company. That why i love RBW, they are not a perfect company but ppl don't give them enough credit for their artistic side they only make great groups/songs. Man they even made me love a boy group. My ranking is pretty easy, the song i listen is number ONE until i pass to the next one on the playlist. I find it impossible to choose a favourite. I would like to mention that i loved how they used Swan in this album, i think every part she had fit her voice perfectly. Never overused, pushed .... I feel like in "Into Violet" they were over using her voice in the wrong way (i can't really explain my feelings on that). she is so unique you want to show her but in this album they are way more balanced Jieun has a lot of real lines and beautiful moments and Ireh have some amazing parts she really shines a lot in this album. I think Yuki will explode any time soon, she is just too insane for ppl to miss her. I also think that Chaein will be known for her producing side. "So why" is only produced by her not even a side producer. Soyeon has finally someone she can talk to (they are not on the same lvl i know). Also Yuki is already the 2nd most credited idol of the 4th gen after Soyeon and the group is only 6month old XD Her flow really remind me of Moonbyul in the sense that she can fit any beat of any style. Man i talk to much with my awful english but i f****ing love this group

I thought I had settled on So Why as my favorite, but now it's all up in the air again. I find section with the heavy bass and voice only is one of the things I remember most after a few hours. Twinkle's guitar and voice section is the other that really sticks with me permanently. But when I'm listening through it again they are just all so great.
