Where can I watch these performances? I can’t find them anywhere :c

KpopPrince

I would check the twitter account watermarked on the last video in this trio

they're so good at delivering emotions

Also, if you are willing to navigate Naver, you can see all of them there: https://tv.naver.com/jtbc.jtbcband/playlists

I was about to sleep when I got the notif but I just had to watch right away!! Thank you Beks and Robert for more Superband requests! :D Creep is such an iconic Superband stage. It's so raw and emotional. Everything about it is just stunning and Hyungwoo's bass adds so much. A lot of people really love this performance (I mean, how can you not?), however, the judges' evaluation for this is actually split. Two of them thought that it was a bad song choice and that it didn't quite live up to the original. Joe Hahn, on the other hand, thought that it was an excellent choice and loved the whole thing. He gave them a score of 98, the highest score given in that round. The other judges gave them two 88s, 86, and 82 as far as I remember. Here's a subbed clip of the judges' comments for Creep on Twitter if you want to watch it. It's cut into two parts. https://twitter.com/salmahlwh/status/1397498231228010497?s=19 As for Zairo's team, they're one of my favorite combinations during the ad hoc phase! Hangyeol and Zairo's voices go well together and Siyeong just keeps on killing it on the drums. I'm not sure how Hangyeol and Siyeong are currently doing but Zairo continued his solo career. He released a solo album last year. Oh btw, Hyunsang is making a solo comeback on Aug. 28 if you're interested in checking it out! :)

KpopPrince

I strongly disagree with those judges that ranked them in the 80s. Thank you for the link!

thanks for the reaction and the heart you put into them! i really enjoyed watching these again with you. i didn't realize you were so interested in the judge comments. if i do another clip or sub again in the future i will be sure to include them. i also find them really interesting, but i wasn't sure that was always the case. creep: someone mentioned already the judges' scores. another fun fact is that joe hahn was consistently giving the lowest score out of all the producers until the creep round where he literally gave the highest score by over 10 points. maybe it just hits different when you are a native english speaker, i don't know. more fun facts: hyunsang has said that he never did and never has hit that note as well as he did in that performance, live. hong jinho (cellist) was quite accomplished in classical music before he entered the show - not just some random dude who plays cello. zairo: pronounced zy as in xylophone + ro as in rona (lol). yes, a soloist, i love his work. will likely enlist soon there were 14 episodes of the show and they do not fuck around with fluff, eliminations are so fast as to give you whiplash. but a lot of the songs (not all, sadly. no royals) are on spotify. here, i made a playlist for you of the ones you've heard so far: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7fdBBx3Q3tXibz2ISy0bP3?si=2f0a6776a6fb4fb3 superband 2 is going really well so far, i am completely obsessed. if it doesn't get subbed (which tbh, i doubt it will be soon just because it would be fansubbed and it is quite long and, as i have realized, that is a lot of work) once we get through the main hits of sb1 i will probably start requesting there haha. there was a cover of a Muse song that if you're like me you might die to see just for nostalgia's sake

KpopPrince

Thank you so much for the playlist! Oh shit, which Muse song is it? From Absolution?

yep :))) time is running out. the judges didn't love it but my jaw was on the floor. you had to be there i guess and by "there" i mean a teenager in the early 2000s

BaoziBang

Did you say there was a Muse Cover? Apparently i missed that one... Btw, I was so shocked when I saw Davii and Demian there and then realized both their last Songs were technically featuring Pentagon. (Davii feat Kino & Demian feat DAWN) and now I think maybe it was destiny.

I agree with Beks. Thank you for the reactions! Superband is special. I've seen the whole show twice, and certain performances dozens of times. But when I see you react to them, it's like I'm seeing them for the first time. The original Creep performance by Hoppolla is one of those timeless performances that I'll keep coming back to, like Queen's performance of Radio Gaga at Live Aid (which I saw live. I'm old.) It is legitimately horrifying, and also beautiful. It's the definition of what music can do, emotionally. Zairo has been on Youtube lately, as the guy playing guitar in the background of those Sea of Hope episode clips with Rosé. It's hard to be onstage with Rosé, because she eclipses everyone, but my guy is there, representing the Moné vibe. The frontman that Zairo kept referring to as hyung is Kevin Oh, the last frontman from Superband season 1 that you have not seen. I might request him in September, but we'll see. Beks and I could spend the next three years requesting performances from Superband season 1. It's a roller coaster ride that I encourage everyone to experience for yourselves. Even if you don't understand Korean, if you understand musician language, you'll get it.

Also, disagreeing with the Korean judges and fan votes is an honored tradition in Kpop for international fans. There was fan voting in Superband season one. Let's not talk about that. I'm still salty.

i have not watched any of season 2 of Superband. I was waiting to see if they would sub it in English. I'm like Charlie Brown to JTBC's Lucy, pulling that football away at the last minute.
