Regarding the advice thing from the 2pm member, yeah their choreography wasn't as hard as the newer groups, but as like a lot of the male groups at jyp they still did a lot, but it was more like acrobatics, martial arts, flying over the stage kinda thing. So even if it isn't comparable to today's standards, i feel like they still would know how hard it is to perform such hard chores on stage. You really should do like a throwback Thursday thing and watch old 2pm clips especially live stages 😁

There were a buttload of props for SKZ, but I thought that mashup was an A+. The amount of anticipation that track builds is insane, whereas I thought the remix of No Air kind of left me hanging. Then again, TBZ are just victims of their own talent. They are super innovative and possibly the most perfectionist group I've ever seen.

Ateez gave everything

Another person I watched had a perspective that kind of opened my eyes towards how Kindgom's performances are set up. Groups view this as an opportunity to give it their all in performances they would not be able to do anywhere else. That's why these performances end up being so dramatic and showy rather than a typical kpop show. It's an opportunity for them to go all out creatively and try things they may have always wanted to do, but can't because of the limitations shows put on. I think that kind of opened my heart a bit more to The Boyz's performance and the other ones. I think they're enjoying having the ability to give such grand performances.

From what i heard the 3 Z groups (TBZ,SKZ,Ateez) all were notified that the money cap they have got raised for round 1 but the other 3 teams werent, which is pretty seeable imo from the stage design of all the groups alone.

Finally had some time to sit down and watch this reaction. I agree with you on the skz performance. However, the budget difference was much more noticable in the skz performance for me than in the ateez one. I liked the skz performance a lot, but it felt like the higher budget made it better, whereas with ateez it just added to an already insane performance and arrangement. But that's just how I personally saw it! I think you were kinda misinformed as well, since it was ateez, tbz and skz who all knew about the higher budget.. wasn't just ateez.

About the senior groups giving 'advice' to their juniors, I don't think skz were ever looking for 'technical' advice from their sunbaenims.. When they asked him to monitor their performance it was to gain insight on how their performance looks as a whole, since he was watching it as a member of the audience. Also since these juniors grew up listening to these sunbaenim's music and would use their songs during trainee evaluations pre-debut etc, of course they would have massive respect for the people themselves, and gaining recognition/praise and being reassured by a simple "that was great!" could mean the world for morale. Thats the reason companies often bring in sunbaenims to talk to their juniors during these shows, its not because of technical advice etc

Reactions are the best part

this is a very late comment 😭 but when it comes to money ateez’s props we’re all from old mvs and stages, the only thing they spent money on was the kraken, and the dancers were friends of bbtrippin( the ateez choreographers)

Okay, by you having pieces of it spoiled, you already have expectations and opinions on the performances before you even see them. So you aren’t really giving them the look of someone watching it for the first time and knowing nothing. By knowing what songs or whatever you build up what you want to see in your mind and it’s not really fair to the group who is putting so much into each performance that you don’t like it because it isn’t what you expect. Also, yeah, these aren’t “kpop performances”. If it was a normal kpop performance they would go be on Show Champion or After School Club. But the whole premise for Kingdom: Legendary War is that the performances are supposed to be legendary and something you wouldn’t see anywhere else. It’s not an MNET thing this time, but a “that’s what the show is about” thing.

Late and probably invisible comment, but not that anyone would think BTOB was one of the high budget groups but stil i remember at the time everyone was blaming evertgroup and defending their favs...so i did my reseach on BTOB stage and infound that every tree was a used prop from old Cube stages...like some trees were en Gidle's "Hwaa", also on Pentagon's "Daisy" and other BTOB performances...the white leaves on the floor were on other "Daisy" stage and funny enoughr those leaves were on a recent Lightsum stage as well...so money was not on their side...they literaly have a fake tree made of branches just taped together on the center of the shot hahahaha

"seonghwa and san are the best ending fairies in ateez, but also hongjoong, because he looks like he wants to... eat your fingers or something." yes, this is the kind of content i pay money for, thank you.

I was about to say that's hilariously true, but it's apparently something I said 😅

I've watched Kingdom ages ago, but after many viewings, I wanted to see someone react as they came. I think because you have such a connection to Stray Kids that you are hard on them. And that's fine. However, you said you wanted more. I cursed you loudly. LOL What MORE do you want man? Once you take into account that this was the first time they've performed in this kind of event and they were the second youngest group (by debut date), that they rocked it. But you wanted more. (Yes, I'm glaring at you now.) That being said, ATEEZ won the round. Hands down. As for the makeup and stuff, K-Pop as a whole, I've learned to just roll with it. I think it's a difference in Eastern and Western view. Enjoying your commentary.
