I know this was filmed a while ago, but glad to see your reaction to this! Make a Wish and 90s Love had some of my favorite stages! I don’t know if you’ve realized it since, but yes the intro to this stage was the interlude on the album. And in regards to controversy, I believe antis really tried to say that this song was culturally appropriating Islamic culture, but many islamic fans spoke out about how it’s not. However, there were legitimate concerns with a different stage they did, where the set design was using an actual mosque which is definitely a no-no and another where they did those hand motions so yeah yikes. And yes! Taeyong is in-fact the leader of NCT as a whole. They also have subunit leaders though: Taeyong - 127 Leader, Kun - WayV leader, Mark and Jeno - Dream leaders. Mark and Jeno split the responsibilities for when Mark is busy promoting with 127 or Super M. But when they’re all together, Taeyong is definitely the leader. And their live vocals are really so solid, especially Doyoung in the From Home stages!

And in regards to the cultural appropriation issue in general well, as a black fan I’m all too familiar with it honestly and even though NCT is my ultimate group, I’m not blind or ignorant to all the issues they’ve had with it literally since debut so it’s a bit touchy. I’m more of an intent and nuance person though, I definitely don’t deny that many of these actions are cultural appropriation and inappropriate, but I’m also not quick to cancel. I prefer to express my disappointment and attempt to educate the members and company through emails, trending hashtags and fansigns/videocalls with the idols, but at the end of the day we just gotta move on lol if they listen they listen, if they don’t they don’t. And their performance that did have those issues was actually taken down by the company so I count it as a bit of a win.
