I've been meaning for a long time to write about Megaloceros giganteus, the so-called Irish elk. And, finally, I've done it -- there's a Tet Zoo article coming as soon as possible (I aim to publish it tonight), and I've also reconstructed the animal based on the abundant data we have. The article explains why I've depicted the animal in the way that I have - the most important data comes from French cave art. For now, I just want to share images that show the reconstruction coming together...

This illustration is also required for The Big Book. My eventual aim is to have a montage that features a whole diversity of deer taxa. Some way to go before I'm ready to get that finished though.

Anyway -- I'll bring your attention to the Tet Zoo article once it's up.
