The drawing of the passerines continues. The animals here are from disparate parts of the phylogeny; all are known from the fossil record (though the only bowerbird fossil is so young that some might dispute its being a fossil). From lower left to upper right: the mohoid Moho, the bulbul Hypsipetes, the bowerbird Ptilonorhynchus, and the Australo-Papuan treecreeper Climacteris. And at lower right there's the thornbill Acanthiza

So - YES, all of these groups are known as fossils, and I have good sections of bird on them in The Big Book. Now you know why the thing is taking so long (as if you didn't already).

As per usual, these illustrations were done by getting the proportions   from photos, and by adding details from photos as well. Many photos.
