Oh I've been very excited to see this painting! Also I actually watched Hotel Transylvania this week so I definitely have a greater appreciation for Mavis and this painting now 😸 Starting off, I love the colours here, I see that you've added a lot of warm tones to Mavis and her clothes, making her look particularly distinct against the cool background. You've done some really lovely things with the colours and lighting that I'll look at more closely later on in the comment 😸 The background itself is very nice, I really like the subtle, soft green glow rising up at the bottom of the sky, as well as the white glow between the hills, separating out those silhouetted shapes. A bright full moon is always nice and the little bats are a fun touch too. Looking at Mavis more closely, the lighting and colours on her hair are just gorgeous! The shining texture is especially nice on her dark black hair, making the contrast in light and dark tones really pop. Having the lighting be a warm golden tint on one side and a pale blue on the other is a great contrast in tone too and makes the hair look really vibrant. They also contrast in texture too, with the golden lighting being a more shiny texture, while the blue is softer and blends more gently into the black. Both coloured edge-lighting do a great job of adding definition to the overlapping shapes in her hair which just look lovely! I really like her cape too, the red underside has a mix of subtle shines alongside painterly, smeared textures that look very nice, with deep black folds that really make them ripple. I particularly like the black section above the red, with how it flows and subtly twists, with the blue lighting accentuating the flowing, rippling feel to it. The way the blue blends into the black is also so smooth and subtle. Her black dress is gorgeous too and I like how it's overall tinted a warm, brownish colour, making it contrast well against the blue background. Likewise, the blue edge-lights on her shoulder, breast and waist/hip then really pop against the dark, warm material and emphasise the curves of her figure. That blue lighting on her breast also does a great job of making it pop against her right shoulder. I love the definition of her body through the dress, the combination of smooth, soft lights on her breasts, along with the folds running between them, give the impression of a soft material being stretched between the breasts, which just looks very sexy πŸ’œ The tight material looks wonderful over her stomach and thighs too and once again, I like those folds that run through the material, giving that impression of it stretching as she lifts her leg. The definition of her upper right thigh through the dress looks gorgeous with a wide, cool blue edge-light and a warm brownish tone each separated by a deep core-shadow with some reddish tinting to it, making that area look very vibrant, while having such smooth textures. The whole of her mid-section and her other thigh look just as lovely and I do really like the use of subtle red tones mixed in to add even more warmth and vibrancy. Her sleeves/arms look great too, her left arm is well defined with a good contrast in light and dark tones, showing off the larger plane changes of the arm. The red lighting bouncing off of the cape onto the inside of her fore-arm is a nice detail too and pops well against the shadows there. Her right arm looks really nice with its overall colour contrast, with soft reddish lighting running down the inside, while a cool, blue light is on the opposite edge, both defining her arm very nicely. And of course her long stockings look terrific too, I like the shining texture of the red stripes which contrast with the soft material between them. The actual definition of her thighs and calves through the material looks gorgeous with lovely smooth textures. The blue edge-lighting does an excellent job adding extra contrast and definition and with her right leg, I like how the leg is brighter above the knee, but then below it, it recedes into a soft shadow, creating a smooth, overall contrast in tone. I'll skip over the exposed sections of her thighs for now and save that for the comment on the NSFW versions πŸ˜‰ But I can say that the thighs, just like the face, have a lovely skin tone to them, to me she still looks like a pale girl, just now a pale girl who is being warmly lit and it is a gorgeous effect 😻 The face pops very well being framed by her dark black hair, with the shadows on her face working with the warmer, lighter tones to define her adorable features. The contrast between the warm light and shadows on her skin is really beautifully done and sculpts her features so well. I also like the hints of reddish tones mixed into her nose and cheeks, with some thin blue edge-lighting making her nose and right cheek really pop! Her pale grey-blue eyes look especially distinct thanks to her warmer skin tones and are utterly captivating and I do love her dark lips with only a subtle shine to them, adding to her goth look. Absolutely beautiful work on this piece, Didi! I was very excited to see this adorable character given the Didi treatment and she looks just as beautiful as I'd imagined! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ All of the biggest, warmest, Transylvanian hugs in the whole world! πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡ πŸ˜»πŸ˜½πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ˜½πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜½πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ˜½πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜½πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ˜½πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ˜½πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ˜½πŸ˜»
