Ooooh, I had to miss the livestream unfortunately, so this finished piece was a total surprise to me, seeing what kind of background you would choose and how the lighting/rendering would be. Suffice to say, I am definitely in total love with how your Yoko has turned out! The colours are just so striking and vibrant with really gorgeous contrasts. I particularly like the blue background, with a mix of lighter and darker blues and a sense of texture that looks very nice, with the brightest white particles being a nice touch that I really enjoy as well. And of course the vibrant, warm tones of Yoko's hair and skin really pop against the blue, with the darker, cooler parts of her clothing and staff then contrasting well with her tones. I do also love how you blend the background colours into parts of the character, which I will properly get to in a bit, but for now I really like how the staff fades down into a lighter blue at the bottom, with a nice, smooth and subtly shining texture to the staff's material. As for the rendering on Yoko, her hair is simply perfect! It has a warm and luscious shine, I particularly like how it looks on her fringe, bright warm tones above contrasting shadows, then with a very warm, vibrant red beneath those shadows, giving her hair this rippling, shining contrast. There's a similar effect at the base of the pony-tail too, right above her skull hair-piece and it looks beautiful. The subtle blending of blue tones into the hair is very nice too, making it fit in with the background and adding that contrast to the bright red. Her clothes are great with my favourite part being that scarf. I love the bright pink running along that top plane, then with shadows all beneath it. Then you have warm bounce-lighting mixed into the shadows with this lovely fold running through the material, making it feel heavy and like it's collapsing on itself. The bra looks terrific too and I like the contrast between the smooth dark material, with the flame patterns having this vibrant shine. The navy-blue of her sleeves/gloves and her shorts pop well against her warm skin tones and I really like the texture, particularly on her shorts, where the lighter tones smear into the darker colours, the folds also have a lovely ripple with the dark tones cutting into the brighter ones. And I also like the shiny gold globs on her wrist bangles, as well as the shine on her belt with the bright sliver of a lighter tone running along its top plane. Lastly for the clothes are the tights, which look so sexy with how they squeeze her thighs and the rendering of her legs through the material is so sensual. I really like the contrast in both legs, with her left leg being bathed in warm sunlight alongside a dark shadow, while also contrasting with the other leg that is entirely in shadow. I also like how her darker leg receives these subtle blue tones to contrast with her brighter, warmer left leg. The colours and rendering of her skin is just terrific too! I really like the overall lighting with warmer lights bathing the top planes of her face, raised arm, shoulders and breasts, while their lower planes, as well as her stomach and most of her thighs are in shadow, creating this gorgeous contrast across her body and really making those warmer lights pop. The definition of her features all look so good too, I love her raised arm and shoulders, the breasts are so sensual and well defined as shadows wrap around the lower planes, giving them their ample shapes and you did a great job with how the breasts are squeezed together and pushed up by the bra. Her whole midsection is just beautiful too, even though the stomach is all in shadow, the ribs, abs and hips are still so well defined by the subtle lighter tones and shadows there with great looking textures and a mix of smooth blending and hard edges. I also really like the hands, especially the lower hand with the fingers kept mostly dark but still looking vibrant and warm. And before I forget, I especially like the shadows cast by her shorts onto her thighs and lower stomach, making the material really pop from the skin. And then lastly, her face is simply adorable! The lighting is gorgeous with that strong contrast in light and shadow, with the shadows being so vibrant, with her cheek tinted red by her hair, while some cool blue also mixed into those tones. I am just in love with this painting! I so wish that I got to watch you paint it, however the surprise going straight from the WIP to the finished painting was amazing too!
