Oh I have been so very excited to see the finished Katara! It was a pleasure to watch you working on her during the livestream and seeing you working your magic made me extra excited! Suffice to say, the finished piece is just as gorgeous as I expected! 😻😻😻😻😻 As I have said, there is such a great sense of motion and flow in this piece, thanks to Katara's billowing, twisting and curling hair, as well as the sensual swaying in her pose as well as the asymmetry in her arms. Her skirt too helps a lot, as does the background with the swirling, sweepings motion of the water. A small detail that I really like that adds even further are the bubbles in the foreground, I especially like how they're slightly squished and blurred, adding to the feeling that they're whooshing through the water. The rendering and lighting on Katara is spectacular and I simply must start with her hair which just looks amazing! Something I like is how the back hair is slightly out of focus, adding to the feel of it being behind her and fading into the background colours, however you still gave it a tonne of detail and it looks great. I especially like the texture and swirling motion of the background hair, while the foreground hair also has a great feeling of movement with how those side ponytails curl and twist to the sides. The striking gold and blue edge-lighting accentuates the details in the hair beautifully while adding lovely colour contrasts and I feel it also further accentuates where the hair twists. And a subtle detail I like is in the hair above her left eye, with a hint of blue mixed into the brown, contrasting with the brown and the golden edge-lighting. Suffice to say, this is some of my favourite hair that you've painted! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Her clothes look great too, I really like the smooth, shining material of the bra, as well as the rippling folds beneath the breasts and how the shadows cut through the smooth material. The rendering of the breasts is terrific with the light shining from above, with dark shadows and blue edge-lighting wrapping around them, defining them. I also like the smoother, more subtle shadows between the breasts, separating them. The ribbon too looks really nice, I love the painterly texture, the dark shadows and the small highlights giving it that shiny feel. The billowing skirt is terrific too with a great sense of painterly texture and rippling folds. My favourite part is the section that curls upwards towards her right elbow. The fabric has a lovely rippling texture on top, while on it's underside you have this smooth feel with the blue tinting being a great contrast to the red. Katara's body and skin look wonderful too and I must say that I love the lighting on the hands and arms! The piercing blue edge-lighting on both hands is fantastic, same with on the arms too, I especially like where it runs down her right arm, showing the overlapping definition of the elbow. The skin textures on her arms and stomach have this perfect mixture of smooth blending and painterly textures and I just adore her stomach in particular. The plane changes of her abs with shadows and light on opposing sides looks gorgeous and shows off the shapes so well. I also love the colours of the shadows which seem to have this dark blue tint to them, really making her feel a part of this blue environment surrounding her. Similarly, the blue edge-lighting on her waist is a great contrast to the skin tones and I love how it smoothly blends into the skin on the waist, while on the hip it runs alongside a thin core-shadow. Oh and her bracelets and collar are very nice too with shining metallic textures and lovely red jewels on the collar. And I am simply in love with the face! The lighting is so striking with a clear contrast in light and shadow, both of which are blended so smoothly and perfectly! I love the definition of her features, especially her nose which looks so cute with some reddish tones mixed in, as well as a blue highlight adding some lovely vibrancy and contrast. Likewise, the blue edge-lighting along her jaw and chin is great and I love her lips too which a beautiful shine and contrast in tone. And you know me by now... I am utterly spellbound by those bright, glowing blue eyes! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 They pop so strongly against her brown hair and skin and I just adore their glow and shine, they really leave me utterly captivated! Absolutely fantastic work on this amazing painting, Didi! The lighting, textures and sense of motion are all so beautifully painted and Katara looks so incredibly cute! (This kind of lighting, bright blue on warm tones reminds me of games like Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps and that is absolutely a compliment! 😻😻😻😻😻) 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 All of the biggest, warmest waterbending hugs in the whole world! 😻😽💜💜💜💜💜😽😽😽💚💚💚💚💚😽😽😽💙💙💙💙💙😽😻😻😽💜💜💜💜💜😽😽😽💚💚💚💚💚😽😽😽💙💙💙💙💙😽😻😻😽💜💜💜💜💜😽😽😽💚💚💚💚💚😽😽😽💙💙💙💙💙😽😻😻😽💜💜💜💜💜😽😽😽💚💚💚💚💚😽😽😽💙💙💙💙💙😽😻😻😽💜💜💜💜💜😽😽😽💚💚💚💚💚😽😽😽💙💙💙💙💙😽😻

Outstanding work with Katara. Also, excellent pick of a possible look for her - her design in the "Fire Nation Outfit" is simply the best! Glad you went that way, rather than putting her in that lame blue eskimo, I mean water-bender outfit :P I think she better looks in red rather than blue, but maybe that's just me ^^ Can't wait to see all the goodies you've put into the pack :3 Thanks for posting, all the best Didi , stay warm and awesome.
