Oh I have been so excited to see the finished Shantae painting, the purple hair and blue eyes always excite me and the colours looked so vibrant during the livestream. And now in this finished work, the colours look even more gorgeous and vibrant than I expected! 😻😻😻 I really like the soft and faded blues and whites of the background, they really let the warm tones of her skin and clothes contrast so strongly, while the cool colour of her purple hair still pops by being much darker and richer, with more detail to stand out against the subtle sky. And of course Shantae's big, adorable blue eyes are very striking against her tanned skin, very captivating 💙💙 Normally when I look at the rendered, I always start with the hair which especially excites me here, but hot damn, when I opened this painting I couldn't help but immediately look at all of the shining gold! Her headband and her golden wrist-bracers look absolutely brilliant! The shining metallic surface is so striking and eye-catching and i really love the bold contrasts between the light and dark lines running through them. The plane changes on the bracers too towards the elbows are amazing and I really like how the gold piece on her hair is clearly made of the same kind of surface but is darkened and cooled by the shadows that the hair would cast onto it. I also really like that her ear-rings are rendered differently with their own unique, less reflective texture but still with a lovely shine with thin bright lines alongside dark shadows. Absolutely sensational work on all of the gold here, Didi, very impressive! 👏👏👏👏👏 But then coming back to her hair, it looks so beautiful! Oh the purple is so vibrant and I love how you've mixed pink into it to add some warmth and vibrancy, while the edges of the hair are tinted blue, adding a pale contrast while also making it blend into the blue sky and water around her. The level of detail in the hair is amazing too with so many strands intricately rendered, I also really like the areas where dark and bright lines run through the hair, adding that shining texture. Shantae's clothes are beautiful too, the bra has such a strong shine to it and I love how the folds are rendered, the hard contrast between light and dark is very striking and you made the material have this thickness to it as the crinkling folds wrap over her breasts.I really like her pants too with a soft texture to them which is a nice contrast to the other shining surfaces in the painting, the blue tint to her pants is also great contrast to the warm red tones. The yellow "belt" also looks terrific with it's shining texture (this painting is just so shiny! 🤩🤩🤩) with those bright lines running through the top planes with dark core shadows along their centre. I also like how there are pale-blue bounce lights running through the shadows, adding light and cool contrasts. And looking of course as Shantae's face and anatomy, the soft and smoothly blended skin tones are just beautiful! Her face has a wonderful contrast in light and dark as the light tones bathe her forehead, left side of her nose and left cheek, with darker shadows on the opposing planes, all working so well to define the features of her face. As always, I love the little lines of light that run along the corner of the nose bridge to further define the planes, as well as the area of light that runs along the upper eye-lash, making it pop against the shadows above the eye (her long elf ear looks terrific too with tonnes of detail on the inner ear and overlapping shapes). And goodness... Shantae's body is so insanely beautiful! 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻 I was really impressed with how you were rendering her stomach area during the live-stream, and now that I can see it finished and zoom in on it, it looks even more amazing than I expected! The strong contrast with light along her rib-cage, dark shadows below it that cover her upper stomach, then with light shining down onto her hips and lower abs, smoothly blending into softer shadows, all of it looks so beautiful! And I like the hard edges that run through the softer shadows of her lower stomach that separate the belly from the hips/waist, while the hips, especially her right hip, looks so sensually rendered, with the thin blue rim-light adding a lovely cool contrast. Her shoulders and upper arms are terrific too, I especially like her left arm with the dark shadow separating her shoulder from her bicep, with all of the dark/light and warm/cool tones blended so well. The smooth transition from her chest to her breasts looks gorgeous too, especially nice with the hard edge separating her cleavage, as well as the bra indenting little shadows into her breasts where the material overlaps the skin. Absolutely gorgeous work, Didi! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 You've made such a vivid and gorgeous painting full of beautiful contrasts in colour and tone and with Shantae looking so cute and elegant as she twists and moves her body.
