I have been very, very excited to see the final Aerith painting, especially after how great she looked by the end of your livestream 😸. Suffice to say, the finished piece is gorgeous! 😻😻😻😻😻 I love the colours overall, the whole painting has such a warm feeling with the yellows and browns of the background, as well as the brown hair, warm skin and vibrant pinks of Aerith's clothes. What's nice is that the background is faded and made of neutral colours so Aerith can still contrast and pop out even though she's made up of warm colours too. But speaking of contrasts, her cool, green eyes really stand out against her face 💚💚. And since I just mentioned her eyes, I have to remark on her face which is just so beautiful! Something about her expression is incredibly captivating with her soft, warm skin tones and her subtle, inviting smile. And having an eye-colour that is very striking compared to the surrounding colours just makes her face all the more noticeable! Whenever I look at the painting again, I can't help but look at Aerith's face first 💚💚😻😻 The actual rendering of her facial features and skin is gorgeous, I really love the reddish tones of her cheeks and nose, especially with the darker reds around the bottom of her nose, with the very bright highlight on the front planes really popping out. The details surrounding her eyes are gorgeous too with the shine spots at the corners of her eyes, as well as seeing the inner planes of her lower eye-lids above her eyelashes. The cast-shadow across her forehead below her hair really contrasts with the bright, warm lighting below and I also really like the plane changes for all of her nose, including between her eyes. Her hair is exquisitely painted too, so full of detail as the braids twist and swirl with so, so many strands of hair given so much detail! Something I especially enjoy about Aerith's hair are the incredibly bright rim-lights, they pop so much against the brown hair and accentuate the definition so much. My favourite area is above her head with the white rim-lighting along the top of her fringe, creating such a strong contrast and really making it pop. Her clothes are gorgeously painted too with smooth and soft textures but still with deep, detailed folds in the material. I really like her shoulder with bright rim-lighting and dark shadows side-by-side, accentuating the shapes there while also creating the deep fold that cuts across her shoulder. I also really like the shining texture of the black belt across her arm. The collar of the jacket too is very nice with a rim-light along the corner of the material as well as a dark cast shadow beneath it. The dress is gorgeous with the definition of the folds running across her lower chest, stomach and hips. You have the folds deeply defined with bright lines running along the top of the fold and dark shadows beneath but you still managed to give the material a soft but smoothly shining texture which looks lovely. As for the rest of Aerith, her arms look great with warm, radiant lighting on the top planes, smoothly blending into darker tones beneath them to really define her planes.Her hands look very well done too with softly contrasting light and dark tones defining the planes of her bending fingers and I love the bright, thin rim-light on her raised hand set against the shadows on her palm (her fingernails are beautifully detailed too, she must have a great manicurist! 😹) The metal bangles on her wrists also have a lovely shine to them, I always love the way you paint shiny, metallic textures and how the light and dark tones contrast. Then there's the flower which has a beautiful, translucent texture to it, it's hard to describe but it's like the petals are reflective and shiny and the way the shadow areas look is gorgeous, especially with the strong contrast against the lighter tones above. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but the rim-lighting on each side of her dress, running down her hips and thighs, look gorgeous. I like the contrast with one side having a white light with yellow on the other and each light accentuates her forms very nicely. One teeny-tiny little criticism is on her right arm, it's where the jacket sleeve touches her skin, it looks like there should be a little cast shadow between her jacket and the skin, kind of like the shadow that her dress casts onto her breasts and thighs. (by the way, the teasing of her bare thighs and pelvis between the split in the dress is so sexy! 😻😻😻😻😻) Really, beautiful work, Didi! Aerith was definitely worth waiting for! 👏👏👏😻😻😻👏👏👏😻😻😻👏👏👏😻😻😻👏👏👏😻😻😻👏👏👏😻😻😻👏👏👏😻😻😻 I just can't stop looking at her face, she looks so beautiful, warm and alluring with amazingly painted and striking hair!This makes me really, really want more Final Fantasy characters, I hope you don't mind if I suggest Jessie from Final Fantasy 7. Oh, when I was talking about about her arm and the idea of the jacket sleeve casting a little shadow onto the skin, that's the arm that's holding the flower. I just looked back at the comment and the way I worded that might be confusing 😅 But anyway, loved Aerith! 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻

Very, very lovely artwork Didi 😍 FF is not my thing, yet still your illustration stands out from the FF artworks crowd.
