Oh, Didi, I am so very, very impressed with this painting! Your Samus is stunningly beautiful and both the colours and lighting really pop in this piece. Starting off, I like the background which is quite similar to your previous Samus painting from earlier in the year (which I have hung up on my wall right now 😸💙💙), the overall cool tones and particle effects look very nice. While the Metroids themselves look great too with their blue outlines and transparent "skin" or whatever it is that Metroids have 😅, their red/pink "brains" also pop very nicely against the cool-coloured background. With Samus herself, the skin tones for her face are especially vibrant and warm and as a result, the contrast between her beautiful face and the background are striking, I can't help but look straight towards her face and hair when I look at this painting thanks to the great colour contrasts here. And since I'm talking about colour, I think it makes sense to compliment the colours for her hair here, specifically how the hair behind her is tinted blue by the background which not only looks very well done, but adds further contrast to the warm, golden hair on top of her head. Samus' left strand of hair that's in front of the blue-tinted hair also benefits and pops nicely. And before i start talking about the rendering, I would just like to say again how much I like the pose for Samus. She's so very elegant with the long curving motion running through her body, the way that she leans her head, the asymmetry of her arms and the opposite twisting of her chest and hips. Okay, for the rendering, her hair looks terrific, I especially love her left fringe and that warm golden glow at the centre of it, surrounded by shadows that further define the shapes. The cast shadows beneath the hair on Samus' face also separate the two forms very well, lifting the hair off of Samus' head realistically. Samus' skin is just gorgeous, so very warm and vibrant and I just love the red tip of her nose which I find adorable. The cool-toned make-up on her eye-lids, her dark eyelashes and her pale eyes all together contrast so well against her warm skin and hair tones too while all being painted so very well. And the actual painting of her skin is amazing (I've zoomed the picture in on her face to see it properly), the colours and tones are so smoothly rendered, her right cheek/jaw in particular show this very well. I also love the pale rim-light running down her left cheek and jaw with the core shadow alongside it. And then there's the Zero Suit... Just... WOW!!! 😻😻😻 That shiny texture across the whole surface of the suit is just fantastic, while beautifully showing the forms of her body underneath it. My two favourite examples of this are her right shoulder and the hard edge that separates it from her bicep, as well as her chest/ribs underneath her breasts and the hard edge that runs down the centre towards her stomach, my eye is immediately drawn to these two areas (after her face of course 😻) thanks to the striking use of lights and darks and complex edges and rendering. And there's so much detail packed into this suit and very clever uses of lighting. One of my favourites is at her thighs where you've covered the inside of her right thigh in shadow, putting a bright blue rim-light on the inside of her left thigh. So despite both thighs being blue, thanks to the lighting, Samus' left thigh pops against her right thigh with both forms being perfectly separated, very well done, Didi! 👏👏👏👏👏 The bright light that runs down her right waist, hip and thigh also accentuates her curvaceous hips so well too, adding further to her sensuality. Similarly the blue rim-lighting along her right side is fantastic. I also love the occlusion shadows where her thighs connect to her hips, showing how those separate forms press together. Oh, Didi... I could go on and on and on about this single version of Samus 😹, she looks utterly stunning and once again you have shown just how much you have improved! I'm going to restrain myself and finish up the comment here but there's still so much more that I didn't compliment...
