Public Version Updated - Important Information (Patreon)

I've updated public version to v0.11.34i, with a major change regarding save files. So please read this post before playing the update if you care about your save files!!

Hey, everyone! Andy here with some news regarding changes to public version, but first thing first, I hope everyone is having a decent 2024 so far!

Because renpy 8 has stopped support for 32-bit builds, and that v0.11.34i is based on v0.11.34p, which is made with renpy 8, it causes a bunch of crashes whenever I boot up the build. 

There's no way to fix it without deleting a persistent file, which isn't something I really suggest.  Due to the public version and patreon version sharing the same save folders, if you've been a patron from September (or have downloaded a Patreon build somewhere else) chances of your game crashing is high, but if you've been a public version reader since the beginning, you might be able to boot the game without losing anything--only if you do this:

...Either way, you'll see that you lost ALL of your progress in game if you boot it up, but no need to panic, there's a way to retrieve it. So please do this before you boot up the game.

Note: Be careful not to receive persistent file from anyone, it's intrusive and they can do things to your computer.

Within the address bar of windows explorer, type %appdata% and then enter.

Look for RenPy folder, and double click it.

There are many folders here, but the one that matters here is AfterClass-####. Backup and save it somewhere. Once you did, copy it and rename it to AfterClass32-#### (with # being the same numbers.)

You might have a different save location, especially if you download the game from itch launcher, in that case, open the launcher, but don't launch the game. Click on the cogwheel icon instead.

You can find the save folder inside \game. Backup and copy it somewhere.

After that is done, see if you can boot it up. If it works, then close the game, and boot it up again. If the game boots up normally, then you can continue playing like nothing is going on. If it doesn't boot up, then you'll have to - unfortunately - delete the saves and start fresh.

That's probably it! And speaking of Renpy 8, I'll still push out 32-bit builds for now, but sometime in July 2024, I'll stop building them and migrate to Renpy 8 completely so that I don't have to deal with this problem. It took me a good chunk of my time to figure out what's going on and having 3 separate builds aren't the most efficient way of solving this problem. So, thank you for your understanding and I'm sorry for making this decision.
