A Word on the Upcoming Demo

Another week of development has flown by and I am happy to say things are going well and at this rate the first demo build of OWH will be released either in late December 2023 or early January 2024 and will consist of the introduction to the game and the first in-game day. As you can imagine in a game called One “Week” Heroine there is going to be a total of 7 (well technically 8 if you include the final mission) in-game days overall. That doesn’t mean it is going to be a short day, Molly has a lot to do if she is going to take down the Regime by the end of the week.

In this development blog we are looking OWH’s Mission Hub and Fabrication Shop. Note, in the screenshots today you are going to see WIP and some placeholder assets (particularly for EX).

Hub-a-hub-a

Here we have the root of the mission hub, it is from here that you get to control Molly’s actions for the day, guiding her, training her, and sending her out on missions. As usual you can find the statistics bar at the top of the screen. On the left of the Hub screen you will see two containers: one for gadgets, one for utility items.

Gadgets are informative devices, when purchased, they will remain in Molly’s inventory and you can check them at the hub. The one shown here is Molly’s Sex Diary, when used, it shows all the sexual activities that Molly has participated in during the game. There are a few other gadgets that you can purchase and even one you might find during a mission.

Meanwhile, utilities are items that Molly can use on missions. Some of them have a once-off use, like the Smoke Bomb. Whilst others, like the Brass Knuckles, will permanently increase Molly’s capabilities. I will leave the function of most of these items for you to find out.

Below the item containers are the Waiting Clocks. During the game, when Molly does something that draws attention, you are going to generate Threat. The higher the Threat Level, the more alert the Regime is to Molly’s actions. So you may want to lay-low at the hideout to lower the Regime’s Threat Level. That is not the only reason you might want to wait in the hideout: Some missions and activities are only available at certain hours of the day (you don’t want to try and do a night infiltration in the middle of the day do you? Or maybe you do…) so you can use these buttons to skip time ahead. For the most part, once it hits midnight, Molly is going to need to rest to regain energy.

In the middle of the screen is the Menu. This allows you to choose what you want Molly to do. Operations are split into Priority (those that are vital to be completed for the end game) and Ancillary (those that are not as important but doing them will provide you benefits).

Operations are also split into those that are Overt (loud, where cover is less important) and Covert (undercover, or where you are trying to maintain stealth). Other activities that Molly will be able to partake in, include training, hanging out with EX and working. Currently, Molly will be able to do a total of 6 things a day but there are ways to increase this amount (the number of actions Molly is able to take is the main thing that is going to need playtesting).

Finally we have the:

Fabrication Shop

Here we can see EX in all his placeholder glory as well as the WIP Quincy as they relax in the Fabrication Shop (note all backgrounds you have seen so far are placeholders).

This room is filled with an assortment of specialized 3D printers and tools that Quincy uses to manufacture the items that Molly is going to need in the field. Luckily, you are not going to have to go out and dig up the materials yourself, Quincy has a network that he can buy materials from, he just needs the funds to do so.

The Fabrication Shop is quite simple, mouse over items to see what they do, click them to purchase them. You might be thinking “wait, shouldn’t C.O.P.A. have an unlimited budget with these kinds of things?” and to that I will say, “yes, usually they would.” and leave it ominously at that.

Until Next Week

That is all for this OWH development post. Thank you to all the people who have subscribed to either my Patreon or Substacked recently. If you are enjoying yourself, please consider subscribing if you haven’t already (on Patreon no funds will be taken until the first build of the game is released anyway). Either way, it is great to have you along for the OWH development ride.

Next week we will be looking at the road to the first build. What has been completed, what needs to be completed, and what comes next after the demo build is released.

This Week’s Question

This week’s question is about your gameplay habits, how often do you play a NSFW game? When you do, how long do you play for?

For me, I tend to play at least three times a week, and depending on the game it will last 1 to 3 hours.

This update alone has my hype to like defcon 5! I usually play also 1-4 times a week depending on how busy, usually 1-4 hours depending on the game. I actually really enjoy nsfw games that make me use my brain upstairs and can lose many more hours on weekends to those

Just a note, I have had to make a previous post members only as public posts with nudity violate the Patreon ToS. I will make a proper update about it next week. They will all still be visable over on my Substack.
