And here my dear friends, a great anatomy fail...I really do feel ashamed showing the WIPs of this strip 0///0

The panel in which Ellie charges towards the viewer is just plain awful. Not only that I made her Arms too short. Her chest just looks...ew. Thank goodness I had my husband on my side who gave me a few advices and helped me revising her.

I don't know what I would do without this man. Not only is he a great inker, who gives this strip so much life in it's finish, I also would not be able to get those strips done in time with the quality they have in the end, if I would do them all by myself Y_Y

Thanks for including these. Your fluid style is something I admire. I used to draw but was more mechanical about it than artistic. Since I had no critics I could trust a trick I used was to look at the drawing in a mirror. Proportion and anatomy errors seemed to stand out with such a fresh look. Your husband does a great job with the inks. Way back then I inked I used pen, brush, ink for figures and plants and rapidograph pens plus templates for geometric/man made items. To this day I admire the inking of Wally Wood's comics. I'm no artist but all the time I spent trying to be gave me a great eye for art, photography, negative space, and the world around me in general. I know how hard what you do can be.

I think you are your own worst critic!

That's's more a blessing than a curse. That way I keep improving :) But thank you ^^

Sure :) I have to thank you for the kind comment ^^ I know that trick with mirroring images to spot anatomy mistakes. Sadly I have to say...I use that way too little :< Which is ridiculous, I mean, it's barely any effort, even without a mirror. But yet I always forget to do it +_+ So you were self taught in art? :) You sound a lot more professional than me. I went to an art school in Germany, but sadly...I don’t think it helped me that much. When I was done with my education, which was more design oriented than drawing, I knew the basics of photography, design, video editing and learned a few more techniques in drawing/painting. But I felt like I don’t even know enough to apply anywhere as assistant :/ It was my husband who turned into the most helpful mentor for me, since he introduced me into the proper tools, techniques and really pushed me to learn how to use compositions and perspective (it’s pathetic. 3 years of art school and no clue how to set up proper perspectives -__-). He actually also helped me narrow down in what direction I wanted to go artwise (I guess the school I went to wanted to train their students as flexible as possible, and only touched on all the different genre without getting too intensive into them) Granted, I still have a lot to learn and to improve. But I would be years behind it wasn’t for him. I wish I could get more into inking tho. I’m with you, I love this old school inking (I hope that’s the proper way to say it ^^). When I was younger, I only used fineliner for my outlines...which killed the liveliness of the pencil sketch, imo. But proper ink sure does improve everything :>
